NAME: Aigis
PERSONA: Athena
MAIN WEAPON: Heavy Firearms
A humanoid weapon with a heart, and a returning cast member from Persona 3. It’s unknown how she becomes involved with this game’s case and the Persona 4 characters. Where are the other members of S.E.E.S.?
PLAYER GUIDE
Aigis' optimal strategy is to fight in close range while in Orgia Mode. Orgia Mode provides Aigis with several new moves, including “Hover Boost,” which allows her to stop in midair. She also gains skills that are effective in aerial battles, so activate them with an air dash to get in close. Once Orgia Mode wears off, though, you should put some distance between yourself and the enemy.
When not in Orgia Mode, you'll want to attack with Aigis' heavy firearms. Switch between the “7th Gen Gatling Blast” and “7th Gen Radical Cannon,” which can be used as an anti-air, to buy time. Once the Orgia Mode gauge fills, rush back in for more close combat.
One of Aigis’ Persona attacks is a special move that brings up a shield to protect against enemy attacks. If an enemy attack hits while guarding, Athena will counterattack with a rush. For Aigis, it's recommended to rely frequently on this Persona attack as a means of blocking. This is especially useful when buying time to regain Orgia Mode, or to ward off a fierce enemy assault until you have a chance to counterattack.
NAME: Akihiko Sanada
PERSONA: Caesar
MAIN WEAPON: Fists
He was a member of S.E.E.S. with Mitsuru during the case three years ago, chronicled in Persona 3. He went on to college after graduating high school, his endless craving for strength sent him on a training journey around the world. He returned to Japan for now at Mitsuru's request. His appearance has greatly changed since P3 and he joins the fight with a savage look.
PLAYER GUIDE
He is fast and strong, but his reach is short, so your approach to your opponent is important. Akihiko’s Persona can draw in the opponent, so use it to get in range of his close-combat attacks. His Auto Combo has a quick start, so it’s harder for the opponent to block. Start off by using that as the basis for your attacks.
When the SP Skill “Thunder Fists” is activated, Akihiko’s attacks will have an added Shock effect. Shocked opponents cannot move around, giving you a chance to deal lots of damage with Auto Combos or the Awakened SP Skill, “Maziodyne.” Its one weakness is that if Akihiko is damaged at all, the Shock effect will be cancelled, so watch out for the enemy's projectiles and Furious Actions.
Finally, you can chain "Kill Rush" into various specials. One easy combo for big damage is to follow up Kill Rush with "Boomerang Hook," and end with a "Corkscrew." Experiment for yourself to see which follow-ups you like best!
NAME: Mitsuru Kirijo
PERSONA: Artemisia
MAIN WEAPON: Rapier
She is one of the members of S.E.E.S., a Shadow-hunting organization active in Persona 3, three years before P4 Arena. She is also the daughter of the founding family of the Kirijo Group, a powerful multinational corporation. Now twenty years old, she is a college student on the surface, but she also leads a certain special organization in secret. She has come to Inaba on a mission to retrieve something.
PLAYER GUIDE
Mitsuru is unique in that she relies on charge command skills. They can be performed while crouching, so it’s best to hold diagonally back while crouching. Depending on the opponent’s situation, press the button while pushing up or forward for one of two types of attacks.
Using "Bufula" brings out a wall of ice that slowly moves forward. This wall cannot be destroyed with Persona attacks, so not only is it a useful keepaway device, it can help you achieve a Persona Break. If it hits the opponent, they'll be Frozen, preventing them from moving.
The Furious Action “Getsu-ei” is a highly effective anti-air attack that slashes in a circular motion. Lure the opponent to jump in with Bufula and then punish them with Getsu-ei. The skill can be activated in midair, making it useful not only for counterattacking, but for launching your own offensive.
NAME:Labrys
PERSONA: Ariadne
MAIN WEAPON: Axe
A mysterious girl that the Investigation Team meets while delving into the TV. She wears a Yasogami High uniform and calls herself the Yasogami High student council president, while in a TV world that looks very much like Yasogami High. What's her role in all this...?
NAME: Shadow Labrys
PERSONA: Asterius
MAIN WEAPON: Axe
The subconsciously repressed part of Labrys that has separated from her and gone berserk. Asterius, a monster of Greek myth, is the power she gained from the original Labrys denying her. It’s a part of Shadow Labrys that is always at her side.
NAME:Elizabeth
PERSONA: Thanatos
MAIN WEAPON: Book
A resident of the Velvet Room that exists between consciousness and unconsciousness. She played a major role in Persona 3, but now she has vacated the Velvet Room for her own purpose and enters the TV world on a personal quest.
NAME: Protagonist (Yu Narukami)
PERSONA: Izanagi
MAIN WEAPON: Katana
A young man who came to Inaba to live at his uncle's house while his parents were away. He is the protagonist of Persona 4 who solved the bizarre serial murder case together with his friends.
PLAYER GUIDE
The "Zio" skill sends out a burst of lightning, which can either travel across the screen or stay in front of you depending on which button you use. Try switching up your method of casting it depending on how far away your opponent is and use it as a feint to throw the opponent off guard. You can also Skill Boost Zio to give it a Shock effect.
Not only are the protagonist’s Persona attacks strong, they have a long reach. Try using Zio to keep your opponent in check and then follow up with Persona attacks.
Finally, the protagonist's Furious Action, “Big Gamble,” is an anti-air attack where he jumps into the air while attacking with his sword. It costs some stamina, but it's a useful counterattack. Clever use of Zio can force your enemy to jump in, giving you a perfect opportunity to counter with Big Gamble!
NAME: Yosuke Hanamura
PERSONA: Jiraiya
MAIN WEAPON: Kunai
He is a classmate of the protagonist's at Yasogami High and is the son of the owner of Junes, a supermarket in Inaba.
PLAYER GUIDE
Yosuke can jump higher than other characters, so attacking from midair will be your basic strategy. Of his attacks, “Mirage Slash” teleports to the ground for a low-aimed hit, making it tough to guard against. Beginners should make frequent use of this skill.
“Tentarafoo” is a special unblockable technique. When it’s used, Jiraiya will grab the opponent and make them Panic. When the opponent has the Panic ailment, their left and right controls will be reversed. This can be especially effective if you take advantage of its unblockable nature and use it while the opponent is blocking.
The Awakened SP Skill “Sukukaja” causes Yosuke’s movement speed to increase for a while. Once it’s activated, you can move around with such speed that you will seem to disappear for a moment. While Sukukaja is in effect, Yosuke's Auto Combo changes to a special version that can even connect to an aerial attack. It's a good idea to cast Sukukaja immediately once your SP gauge fills.
NAME: Chie Satonaka
PERSONA: Tomoe
MAIN WEAPON: Kicks
She’s the protagonist’s cheerful and athletic classmate. She loves kung fu movies and has taught herself many kicking techniques.
PLAYER GUIDE
When Skull Cracker hits during Chie’s Auto Combo, the first hit will get past a crouching guard and the second hit gets past a standing guard. It's tough for even veteran opponents to block every hit of the combo, so novices can use her Auto Combo to good effect. Once you get used to the controls, try linking Rampage to Skull Cracker on your own.
Chie's reach is short, so use her Evasive Action to dodge the opponent's attacks while moving forward to compensate. You can also use a Evasive Action at close range to get behind the enemy, giving you a chance to go for an Auto Combo.
Using the SP Skill "Power Charge" will temporarily increase the power of your skills. This can be stacked up to three times, and the more you use it, the more effective it gets! SP Skills have effects as well, if you use a Power Charged Auto Combo all the way to "God's Hand," you can shave a lot of HP off the opponent's life bar.
NAME: Yukiko Amagi
PERSONA: Konohana Sakuya
MAIN WEAPON: Fan
She’s the protagonist’s classmate and Chie’s best friend. She has helped out with the family business, the renowned Amagi Inn, ever since she was young. Since she is trained in good etiquette and manners, the boys at school admire her, but she can be somewhat strange at times.
PLAYER GUIDE
Yukiko is best from a distance with her normal fan attack and her "Agi" and "Maragi" skills. Since close combat isn't her forte, you'll want to stay away from your opponent and send a barrage of projectiles at them. Yukiko relies heavily on her Persona attacks to be effective, so make sure your Persona doesn't get broken. If you suffer a Persona Break, block until it recovers.
The "Fire Boost" skill causes your fire attacks to become stronger. It can be stacked up to LV8. This level doesn't decrease when you use skills, so toss a Fire Boost in whenever you get the chance!
When your HP is low, you might want to use the Furious Action "Dia." It will slowly recover HP after you activate it. Not only does activating it knock back the opponent, their projectile attacks won't work while it's in effect, so it's useful as a counter and means of guarding. There is a limit to how much HP you can recover, so be careful not to use it too much.
NAME: Teddie
PERSONA: Kintoki-Douji
MAIN WEAPON: Claws
A mysterious bear mascot that came from the world inside the TV. He used to be empty inside, but now...? He can't resist making bear jokes.
PLAYER GUIDE
One of Teddie's normal attacks is to throw one of 13 items. The items appear in order from the top of the list below. Once everything has been thrown, it goes back up to the top of the list to the MF-06S Brahman. Each item has different effects; the Oil Drum and Amagi Inn Bucket are hard to dodge, so they’re easy to use. Once an item's effect causes the opponent to show an opening, get in a quick Auto Combo.
Item
- MF-06S Brahman - After landing, performs a rush attack while rising into the air
- Dr. Salt NEO - Pick up to gain SP and recover from ailments

NAME: Kanji Tatsumi
PERSONA: Take-Mikazuchi
MAIN WEAPON: Folding Chair
He’s a year younger than the protagonist. People fear him as a notorious delinquent, but he has an honest and pure heart. Despite his tough looks, he’s good with his hands and a skilled knitter.
PLAYER GUIDE
Though his attacks are strong, Kanji is the slowest-moving character. To land attacks, you'll want to use Kanji's lightning skills and Furious Action. His lightning attack strikes different areas depending on whether you're standing, crouching, or jumping, so tailor your attack to the opponent's position on screen.
Kanji's speed means it's better to wait for your opponent to approach, rather than jumping or dashing in yourself. Guard with a crouching block, and when the opponent comes jumping in, attack with "Gotcha!" If the enemy launches a projectile, counter it with "This'll Hurt!" Once you get used to the controls, try tacking on an "Added Cruel Attack."
After you’ve warded off the opponent’s move, it’s your chance for a counterattack! Start an Auto Combo and connect it to the SP Skill “Ass Whoopin', Tatsumi-Style” or enter the command for “This’ll Hurt!” and connect it to “Added Cruel Attack.” Once you’re Awakened, you can always go for severe damage with the Awakened SP Skill “Burn To A Crisp!!”
NAME: Naoto Shirogane
PERSONA: Sukuna-Hikona
MAIN WEAPON: Pistol
The 5th generation of the Shirogane Family, a famous clan of detectives. She is a second-year high school student known as the “Detective Prince.” She met the protagonist when she came to Inaba to investigate the serial murders a year ago. Now, she finds herself unexpectedly dragged back into the TV world.
PLAYER GUIDE
Naoto's basic strategy is to lay “Hair-Trigger Megido” traps on the ground and in the air. This powerful skill is not triggered until the opponent approaches it, and can be placed multiple times. The traps won't disappear until they're triggered or attacked, so keep throwing them out!
Once you enter the “Aim” stance, Naoto will aim her gun. The most effective strategy is to set traps to control the enemy's movement, get some distance, and then take aim. Depending on which button you press, you can shoot in three directions, but you cannot move while aiming your gun. If the opponent starts closing the distance, immediately cancel your aim.
The last important part of Naoto's strategy is the Fate Counter, the number next to the skull below your opponent's life bar. You can decrease the Fate Counter with Hair-Trigger Megido and gunshots. When the counter reaches 0, you can instantly defeat them with “Hamaon” or “Mudoon”. It’s easiest to make Mudoon hit from a throw, whereas Hamaon is easier to hit with from a combo.
