Unreal Tournament III is completely as expected: a pristinely polished package that owns old-school twitch shooting. Not only does it look ravishing, but the new vehicles and features round it out as a near faultless package. Our only main concern is that its chaotic gameplay lies on a road well trodden, and the game's prized mode – Warfare – at times feels as much laborious as it us fun. In short, that sense of déjà vu you get when you start tucking into a genre you've worn out might hit some a touch sooner than expected, and without any support for user-created mods, it's anyone's guess how long UTIII will stay in fashion.
Presentation
Speedy load times and options ahoy, but the lack of a cool lobby to recruit team members is naff.

Graphics
You could frame a screenshot and hang it over your mantelpiece. More mesmerizing than a centrefold, and at a steady frame rate to boot.

Sound
Blistering bullet effects and booms. The booming unreal voice is back and better than ever "ULTRA KILL". We love it.

Gameplay
Lots of modes to play, but it's the stuff with vehicles that'll really take your fancy. Long-time fans of the series will likely get over it faster than most, though. 8.0
Lasting Appeal
The lack of user-created mods hurts this category, but provided the gaming community latches on to this gem, you'll be playing it for months; though, eventually in shorter spurts.
