Dit wisten we eigenlijk al van de video interviews, maar voor diegene die het niet gekeken hebben:
E3 2009: More Guitar Hero 5 Details
New tracks and features unveiled.
June 3, 2009 - We got another peek at Guitar Hero 5 behind closed doors here at Activision's E3 booth. A full band list has been revealed for the game but we're still waiting on a track list. We caught a few more song titles during our demo, though:
- Love & Rockets – "Mirror People"
- Blink 182 – "Rock Show"
- Elton John – "Saturday Night's All Right (For Fighting)"
- Santana – "No One to Depend On (Live)"
- White Stripes – "Get Behind Me Satan"
- Wolfmother – "Back Round"
- Face to Face – "Disconnected"
As you know by now, Guitar Hero 5 lets you play with any combination of instruments you like. Want four bass players? No problem. We did notice, though, that when you have four non-vocalists it starts to get a little crowded on the screen. Previously, up to three note streams would be displayed on the bottom of the screen while the lyrics scrolled by on top. When you've got all four players on the bottom the notes become noticeably smaller. But the ability to switch instruments mid-song is a welcome addition. It should give vocalists something to do during long instrumental sections.
The standard Guitar Hero gameplay is receiving a few tweaks. Star Power is no longer shared by the entire band. Each player will have his/her own star power meter. If all members successfully complete certain sections of songs they'll activate a "band moment" that will increase the multiplier for a short time. Career mode will include bonus challenges that are tailored to specific aspects of a song. These are optional, with requirements like "whammy every sustain." The progression is now completely open with all songs unlocked from the beginning. New venues, cheats, outfits, and surprise guests can be unlocked by working your way through the game, though.
