I originally posted this on the GameOn Network forum, but here it is for anyone looking for it:
Alright, I've been going around helping people out with this, here is what you need to set your FME on:
1. Format > Advanced
- Keyframe Frequency: 4 seconds
- Quality: Lower Quality - Best Framerate
- Noise Reduction: None
- Datarate Window: Huge
- CPU Usage: Dedicated
2. Then on the Video FPS set it on 15.00
3. I suggest running a speed test if you don't know what your upload speed is. I recommend
http://speedtest.net to see what your upload speed is. Now, if it is under 400 kbs, you probably shouldn't play online games while streaming because it will lag too much. Here is what you can do:
- Offline Game: You can use around 90% of your upload speed (just about all of it) on FME, but don't actually go to your max.
- Online Game: You will need about 200 Kbs for an online game, so if you have 400 Kbs, use 200 for your stream and you will be fine.
*Through trial and error, I have found that putting the video bitrate below 200 Kbs will result in choppy video. The lower you put it, the choppier it will get. So, 200 Kbs should be your starting point for your video.
*Audio bitrate should be 40 Kbs or more. 40 works fine and will produce the best sound for the least amount of upstream. But if you have a fast upload speed, then more is better.
