Maar een RPG in de LotR wereld lijkt me erg leuk. Maar een kans geven dan. Ben benieuwd hoe dit gaat uitpakken. ​ ​

The winds of change are blowing through Middle-earth, and unsettling developments are forcing its inhabitants into action. Some have turned a blind eye, unaware of the events in distant lands, and others have been actively but distantly observing the developments. Yet the time is approaching when all the inhabitants of the Middle-earth will play a role in its future, willingly or not. ​ The Dúnedain are descended from the Men of Númenor, who were the most advanced and noble of the houses of Man. They have fallen on hard times with the destruction of the Kingdom of Arnor, but a remnant of their race still labors on to make the North a safer place and to keep alive the claim of Isildur’s Heir. These people live a hard life, constantly fighting against the forces of darkness, yet distrusted and unappreciated by the very people they protect. Most people consider them rough and possibly dangerous. ​ Dwarves are frequently gruff, but many are heroes—wise, compassionate, and thoughtful. They can be quick to take offense at slights and do not suffer fools lightly. While they usually prefer the ways of their own people, they also respect and value others who display courage and wisdom. Their short stature and brash nature betrays their strong loyalty and dedication. Once deep ties are established, they will fiercely defend their territory. Those who underestimate their ability to burrow down and hold their ground will be surprised by their unwavering allegiance to their values. In short, Dwarves can be strong friends and dangerous enemies. ​ The Elves of Middle-earth are the oldest of the races, and most have left for other realms. Those that remain do so out of a love for the land and a sense of responsibility and friendship for those who must remain behind. Elves have long memories and have seen many sorrows in their time. Naturally they have the greatest sense of history since even the events of thousands of years before were lived by their parents or grandparents. One of the things that great age and wisdom teaches the Elves is that whenever possible the small pleasures of life should be enjoyed. Thus this race has a love of song, dance, art, and a deep connection to nature. Outsiders often misinterpret this behavior, considering Elves carefree and unconcerned with the troubles that beset the world. Nothing could be further from the truth however, since Elves have the deepest understanding of the nature of the evil that threatens Middle-earth. At need, Elves are among the greatest and most skilled of warriors. In the hidden refuge of Rivendell, there are Elves that keep alive the ancient arts and sciences of their kind, making them skilled healers and practitioners of mystical arts. ​

LOTR is en blijft tof, dus ik ga het zeker even volgen. En het feit dat hij wat 'volwassener' is, spreekt me eigenlijk ook wel aan.

En hoe snel maak je die startposts zeg, jeez!

 

Je bent er vroeg bij (zoals altijd)

Kan inderdaad een leuke titel worden. Maar LotR games vallen de laatste tijd wat tegen, en de hype is weggezakt.. dus ik ben benieuwd.

De laatste die ik veel gespeeld heb waren die action hack en slash games van EA, en die RPG op de gamecube, The Third Age.

 

Vette trailer ook. Dit word wel een aankoop denk ik, want ben nu eenmaal een grote LOTR fan.

Jammer dat het geen hack ´n slash is net als The Two Towers en Return of the King.

 

Oooeeeeh, Lord of the Rings is so awesome. Maar er is helaas nog nooit een écht hele tof LOTR game gemaakt in my opinion. Bijna alle genre's zijn al geprobeerd zon beetje, MMORPG, Hack and slash, Strategy, Adventure etc.
Een RPG zou echt supertof kunnen zijn, kijkend naar andere vette RPG's als fallout en oblivion. De wereld van LOTR zou er wel perfect voor kunnen zijn.

Ik ben zeker benieuwd naar deze game, hopen dat dit eindelijk dé LOTR titel word! (hoop het echt heel erg!)

 

Ik vond The Two Towers vet, Return of the King wel tof, voor de rest allemaal meuk wat ik gespeeld heb. Een action-RPG klinkt goed, ik hoop op iets als The Watcher of Dragon Age. Alleen vraag ik me af waar ze de titel War of the North vandaan halen, in het noorden was echt geen fuck te doen. Of we moeten naar The Grey Mountains gaan (The Hobbit), maar daar was het eigenlijk ook vrij rustig. Hihi, ben benieuwd.
Ten tijde van het LOTR verhaal, that is.

 

In het Noorden zijn ook veldslagen uitgevochten. Niet alles is in de boeken vermeld, maar wel in de analen of aanhangseld ervan. Zo hebben de dwergen, wat even vlug word genoemd in de films, ook een slag gehad. De Elven hebben o.a. nog gevochten om het behoud van Rivendell. Heel Midden Aarde was in oorlog. Sauron's Blitzkrieg snap je.

 

Juist het enige stukje wat ik niet in de startpost heb geplaatst.

Ok, het is eigenlijk niet veel info.

 

In het noorden was het juist een grote oorlog tussen dwergen, elven en goblins/orcs. Dwergen en elven vertrouwen elkaar onderling ook niet echt, niet dat ze elkaar de hersens insloegen maar soms scheelde het niet veel.

 

Ten tijde van het reisgenootschap tot vernietiging van de ring? Wist ik niet. Cool.

 

CO-OP net zoals Halo wars?
Dan koop ik hem sowieso!

 

LOTR blijft tof ja..
alleen 0 hoop in dit spel.
Geneen LOTR game heeft me kunnen vermaken.

edit: ken wel wat vervolgen verzinnen zo alvast.

 

Waarom vergelijk je het eigenlijk met Halo Wars? Dit is een RPG, geen RTS.

De game heeft deze keer een andere maker + uitgever dan normaal, dus misschien helpt dat al iets.

(Willem, zeg tegen je baas dat ie dat verandert op de FP. Het is geen game van EA)

 

Een LotR RPG, het idee is leuk, hopelijk pakt het goed uit. De wereld van LotR leent zich er wel voor natuurlijk.
Was er trouwens ooit al niet eens sprake van een LotR RPG maar die was gecancelled ofzo?
Ben de naam alleen vergeten?

Ik vond naast de geweldige Battle for Middle Earth serie alleen de hack-and-slash game van The Return of the King leuk.
Hopelijk komt er nu weer eens een goede LotR game!

Heb 't zelf even gefixt. Sta er wel van te kijken dat EA het spel niet eens uitgeeft, zouden ze de rechten hebben laten schieten dan?
