The Good Stuff…
The event opened with the Multiplayer Teaser trailer being played for the crowd, which they had obviously all seen before. After a bit of talk from Treyarch reps, the Multiplayer finally got center stage. And it didn’t waste time, proving to the crowd that Black Ops would be something fresh and fun, while still being a Call of Duty game at heart.
CP (CoD Points)
As leaked earlier, it was confirmed that Black Ops would feature a currency system, known as CP. Players will earn CP in multiplayer matches, and can use them to buy weapons and weapon customizations (see below). Players who like to gamble will also be able to bet their CP in “Wager Matches” (see below). CP can also be earned by completing “contracts”. Contracts are in-game challenges, awarding the player with CP when they perform certain tasks.
Combat Training
For the first time in the series, Black Ops will feature “bots”, computer controlled multiplayer opponents. The boys will be featured in the new “Combat Training” mode. The mode can be played alone or with friends, and it features a completely separate ranking system, separate from online multiplayer. The mode will allow players to practice their skills without the pressure of playing with others online.
Tier 1 Perks

Tier One Perks
Running with their theme of character customization, Treyarch revealed that a players tier one perk in Black Ops will affect the players appearance in the game. This will allow you to choose how your character looks to the other players for the first time in a Call of Duty game. For example, if one has the first tier perk “Ghost”, then they will appear in game wearing a ghillie suit.
Theater Mode
Theater Mode was briefly on display, proving that it would be very capable at recording and editing every match. Users can slow down and fast foreward time, as well as make use of 3rd person and free-roaming viewpoints. Also of note, at some time tommorrow, Xbox Live users will be able to download a video featuring Theater Mode, and showing off it’s features.
Weapon Customization
For a while now, Treyarch has been telling us about the depth of customization that players will have in Black Ops. Players got a glimpse of this when a CAR-15 with a smiley face red dot sight was spotted in the multiplayer teaser, but that looks simple in comparison to what was revealed today. Other than attributes, players will have almost complete control over the look of their weapons. All sorts of stickers can be positioned on the gun as you see fit, clan tags can be engraved in the weapon, and the gins sights (specifically red dot) can be altered and tweaked in a number of different ways. Of course, most (if not all) of these features will cost you some of your precious CP!

Wager Matches
The new “wager matches” were possibly the most shown off feature of the event. In a wager match, the player is betting their CP on the game. Players who finish in the top three receive credits, the rest don’t! Simple, right? Well, sorta. Check out the brand new 3 minute official trailer for a good look at Wager Matches in action. There are four types of Wager Matches, detailed below:
* One in the Chamber – Everyone starts with a pistol and one bullet. Damage is low, so players are one-hit kills. You have three lives, and if you kill another player you’ll earn a bullet from them. If you miss, you’ll have to resort to knifing!
* Gun Game – Start with a pistol and earn a better weapon every time you kill someone. If you’re knifed, you’ll drop back to the last weapon you had.
* Sticks & Stones – Players have crossbows, ballistic knives and tomahawks. Tomahawks earn less points.
* Sharpshooter – All players start with the same random weapon, which cycles after 2-5 minutes.
