Holy crap gek.

Other pros and cons? The quality of Fable’s impeccable writing, both in the main story and the multitude of optional side-quests, is higher than ever before. Albion really is one of the funniest, wittiest, most characterful places in gaming. And at times it can also be one of the most darkly disturbing. The staggering voice cast, taking in luminaries from the likes of Lord of the Rings, Shaun of the Dead, Dog Soldiers, Spaced, and a stack of other great British dramas and comedies genuinely is one of the best in games to date.

Fable III is also arrestingly beautiful, Albion’s vibrant, tumbledown character rendered slightly sharper and cleaner than before, if susceptible to some pop-in, frame-rate shakes, and a strange ghosting effect at times. Nothing that’ll pull you out of the world though.

But on the subject of glitches, very occasionally the golden breadcrumb trail which guides you around quests will lead you the wrong way, or switch off altogether, essentially leaving you stranded until it reactivates. And I had a couple of side-missions completely disappear from the quest list when switching, only to reappear later. Irritiating, but again, nothing that outweighs the many positives. And definitely patchable. So sort it out, Lionhead.

    Is it better than...?

Fable II? Yes. The core, combat driven mission model hasn't really changed a huge amount (though fighting is now a little faster and punchier), but by stripping out some of Fable II's sillier charcter interaction excesses and upping the sense of attachment in subtle but clever ways, Fable III is a more satisfying, more grown-up experience. And now you finally get to understand the responsibility that comes with a quest for power.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess? No, but both games offer very different things. Zelda wins in terms of quest variety (its legendary puzzle-dungeons are just more engaging than Fable's hack-and-slash fests), but Fable III absolutely destroys TP in terms of creating a vibrant, living world you can genuinely have a affect on. And as sequels go, it adds more to its formula than Link's Wii outing does.

Fallout: New Vegas? I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. Both are clever, funny and ambitious open-world RPGs which offer plenty in terms of side-quests and freedom, but Fable III's Albion is just a more beautiful and vibrant place to be. It might not have the scale of NV, but Fable III does add more interesting new twists to its predecessor. And less serious bugs.

    Just for you, Metacritic!

Although Fable III's streamlined approach to the traditional Fable concept might feel a little odd to franchise veterans at first, this iteration is every bit as engaging and rewarding as its predecessors. Moreso, in fact, given that Lionhead's subtle but deeply effective changes to character and world interaction add such a tangible sense of attachment. Big, clever and funny, you'll rarely have enjoyed going through such punishing emotional torment.
    You'll love

    * Probably the best writing and acting in games right now
    * It's big, funny and clever
    * It will seriously put you through the emotional wringer

    You'll hate

    * It's technically a bit shaky in places
    * The story climax feels a little rushed
    * Some less combat-driven quests would have been nice

Er zit dus schijnbaar veel emotionele dingen in, en daar houd ik wel van in games. Ik ben echt benieuwd...enneh, mine is ordered ;)

Take your time with it and Fable 3 is one of the most lovingly created RPG experiences around. Fable 3 looks and feels great in almost every department. The new additions and tweaks are still genuinely refreshing. The map is a godsend, the sanctuary a revelation, the visuals warm and welcoming, the story, well told and the characters the most charming you’ll come across. The experience is as plentiful as you want it to be, yet short for others. That doesn’t stop it being a must-have for Fable fans. Fable 3 is still one of the best RPG experiences around

You could drone on and on about the intricate details of this game, how you’ll visit familiar places, see familiar faces and be a part of some ridiculously inventive quests along the way but it’s easier sign off by stating what should by now be obvious; Lionhead studios have created a masterpiece and, whilst it does have some minor imperfections, it’s as close to a perfect adventure game as you’re likely to find nowadays

The replay value of this game is endless and fun. Once you beat the game there is a lot of side quest still to finish, money to be earned, and joining people in Co-Op adds to the fun. If you enjoy joining someone’s game killing an entire town and then leave.

The gripping plot, excellent voice talent, smart humour and slick controls have all managed to keep my attention to the point where I am going 'okay, just 1 more chapter...' for the tenth time at 3am in the morning. This has always been my acid test for a great game, and Fable III certainly passes muster. Overall this a cracking game that, if it weren't for few minor niggles, would get a perfect score

Lionhead Studios has created a game that not only RPG fans will love but one that all action adventurers should love as well. Beautiful art styles, loveable characters, and injected humor throughout the game make an epic tale in itself, but it’s the fact that you will mold this tale into your own story is what makes the game so unique. Fable III offers up everything one could want in a game and more and should offer plenty of replayability not only because of co-op play but the fact that you can make so many different decisions along the way throughout the entire game. You are in control of your own destiny with Fable III and the fate of Albion lies on your shoulders. How will you rule your land?

    + Improved Co-op Play
    + Challeges your morality
    + Engrossing and gripping experience
Fable III pushes the idea of the second game that little bit further, challenging players to prove their worth as a ruler. But not only that gives you a great deal of freedom on how you do it making it an even more engrossing experience that is hard to put down once the story and world of Albion grabs you.

    Beautifully written
    Superb voice acting
    Genuinely mature moral choices
Combat honed to a fine art
    A real challenge
A 25+ hour masterpiece, Fable III is the sum of Lionhead's ambition to make a truly groundbreaking game. Funny, inventive, polished and masterfully told, it's a game hampered by only a few minor qualms, and an absolutely essential purchase.

So, has Fable III lived up to its predecessor? Yes, it has. It’s a stunningly beautiful role-playing game
that’s unparalleled in depth. Packed with an immersing story to keep you locked to your controller for however
long you choose to play, it’s backed up with some excellent side questions that add a lot of extra gaming time onto it.
Do the slight combat problems take away from the game? Ever so slightly, but it doesn’t stop the game from setting the
role-playing game bar higher than it’s ever been on the 360.

Spong: "A wise man on a comedy sketch programme called The Fast Show once said, “I love being King. It really is the best job in the world!” After playing Fable III to the death, I can only agree with that sentiment
Fable III is a truly great sequel – lush graphics, full of humour and coated with the fantastic British sheen that only Molyneux can deliver. The attempt to refresh the series with a brilliant strategy-sim concept is stunted by Lionhead's inability to flesh it out post-story. You'll play this for ages, and love every second of it too, but by the time you get to the truly special part you'll want to avoid reaching the very swift conclusion for as long as possible.

With Fable III, Lionhead have finally achieved the perfect balance through offering their most impressive script streamlined through a quantity of refined features that provide a core experience where your very morals are repeatedly put to the test. Fulfilling promises made since the series’ conception, players are now able to truly shape the very kingdom that they traverse - an accomplishment that makes the title one of the most compelling and rewarding additions to the Xbox 360 library this year.

There is much more to Fable III, but I want you to find out for yourself, to play the game is much more than words can describe. Fable III has so much packed into it I could write a book, it’s there for you to find out, explore and enjoy the story and of course there are many ways to complete the story depending on the choices you make and the route you take, but don’t rush through, take your time and enjoy what this game has to offer. It is simpler to play and in parts frustrating but Fable III is definitely the best of the three and one which should be in every Xbox 360 user’s collection.

Beautiful world to wander through and explore
Excellent voicework that comments on what you're doing
The core quest is very serious and at times heart-hitting...
Even if you don't play Fable 3 more than once, you can expect about 20-25 hours to play through the core game, and anywhere from another 15-20 more if you decide that you want to see most of everything the game has to offer. But I'd recommend not charging straight through – go wander about and sniff the proverbial flowers and have fun exploring the world of Albion.

Fable III has become the innovative third part people expected: a role-playing game for the masses, without a classic menu(!), featuring atmospheric environments and creative quests that tell the story of becoming a hero and dealing with the consequences of it and high expectations. Very moral decision-making meets a Sims-like fairytale

And in Fable III you can do even more: adopt children, merge magical powers, take on moral decisions that
outweigh everything before them and become ruler of Albion. But behind all of these exciting options lies
an honest and interesting story, something that Fable 2 lacked, offering more reward in its many side quests
    and their often amusing characters

The music is flawless for game, so is the voice acting by all the main characters…even yourself the Hero is heard for the first time.
One of the best looking games on the Xbox 360. Rich colourful world with great looking enemies and friends.

Fable 3 offers you more than any previous Fable game could have ever even dreamed of, in fact, dare I say it offers you an experience that very few RPGs can and ever will. A moving and passionate return to form, Fable 3 is the pinnacle of what heart and soul can create. An effigy to creation, Fable 3 is extraordinary

Fable III is certainly one of the best presented games this year, the sheer variety of beautiful landscapes you will travel through are a joy to behold, while the action itself never slows, with the game always keeping up without fail.
Consoles only have a handful of classic fantasy based RPG’s and Fable III has instantly became one of them. Don’t miss you out on the part you have to play in this tale.

I found Fable III to be a lot of fun, which is ultimately the most important thing you could ask of a game.
This is a massive game, and yet it remains accessible to gamers of all skill levels.
That in itself is a pretty special achievement. Tack on a solid combat system, an immersive world,
and decisions with real consequences, and you’ve got a game that just about anybody can enjoy.

    Though Fable III doesn’t change the formula too much from what worked in Fable II, it’s a strong continuation of the series for Peter Molyneux and Lionhead Studios. It’s got great replay value, between the side quests and moral judgment calls, and the presentation, though not quite flawless, is truly fit for a king. Time to roll down the Road To Rule and see what kind of leader you truly are;
