Nu is de 360 geclaimed door mn vrouw en nichtje... Ze zijn verslaafd aan de splitscreen mode van FX 2.
Leuk interview met de developer van Pinball FX 2:
Question: How does Pinball FX 2 differ from the first Pinball FX?
Pinball FX2 is quite different from Pinball FX in that it is a platform rather than just a game. Pinball FX was a great game, and we have had questions about why a sequel, and why not just release more tables? The answer is that we wanted to build a platform that could be easily updated, flexible for users, and act more like a pinball arcade than a standalone game. Being a platform allows us to be flexible with table trials & demos, new content additions, social connectivity and all sorts of other great features. One of the great things we are offering in Pinball FX2 is free backwards compatibility for original Pinball FX owners. If you own this content, you will be able to simply import your existing content, which has also received graphics and physics updates, along with a new set of Achievements to unlock.
Question: Could you describe Pinball FX 2 for anyone who hasn’t seen it?
Pinball FX2 is like having your own personal pinball arcade. The dashboard is setup for easy access to all of the tables you own, and displays tables you do not own. If I had to give you a visual, I would say we have a similar look and feel to the iTunes App store (without the millions of apps).
Question: How large was the team that created Pinball FX 2 and how long did it take to develop?
Pinball FX2 had a development team of 10 – 15 people, and took about 18 months to create. We did not simply recycle code and create a sequel. We developed a full blown platform that is very complex, and along the way been dubbed by Microsoft as the most complicated release in the history of Xbox LIVE Arcade. We asked for a special Achievement for the studio?.
Question: Pinball FX 2 is setup to be a platform on Xbox Live Arcade. Does that mean we'll be seeing a regular schedule to new table releases?
Yes, most definitely. If you have followed Zen Studios over the years, you know we support our products well past launch. We have plans to unveil some great DLC very soon, and our roadmap of future content is very exciting. I really wish I could spill the beans, but stay tuned.
Question: Looking back on Pinball FX 2 what are the things that you are most proud of?
We are very proud of the fact that we have broken new ground on Xbox LIVE Arcade with new levels of social connectivity and flexibility for users. However, the proudest feature of Pinball FX2 is the fact that all of you who supported us in buying Pinball FX will have 100% backwards compatibility and updates for free. We hope this gesture shows all of you how much we appreciate your support.
Question: Was there anything you were hoping to get into Pinball FX 2 that did not make it?
There are always things left on the table that you wish could have been added, but we came damn close to getting all our ideas in Pinball FX2. That is the reason it took so long to develop, and also the reason we had that two week delay. Believe me when I say this is a complicated release!
Question: Now that Pinball FX 2 has released are you planning another XBLA game?
We have other games in the pipe, and concepts that we are fleshing out. Not to mention all the great DLC planned for Pinball FX2! We love the digital game space and will be here for a long time.
Question: How fun or challenging was it to implement the Achievements?
This is always the fun part of the development process. You really think about how to keep people hooked on the game and how they will interact with other gamers. Pinball is a game all about high score – mix that with our new social features and we have some rather interesting Achievements. For example, in Pinball FX2 you have a Wizard Score, which is the combined scores of you and your friends (it’s like having a pinball guild). Competing for a high Wizard Score is a way to rule the Pinball FX2 community, however there are Achievements unlocked for beating your five highest friends. Here you have a decision to make – beat your friends, or try and get the best players for the Wizard Score. What are you to do?
