Well so far it`s been pretty okay 1 v 1 and 1 v 2 but I just got my ass handed to me a minute ago cos I tried to take on 5 Groms lol. Tried to sneak up and do an execution and they noticed me and bam!

I should mention that i`m playing as a lightly armoured assassin who dosen`t use any ranged combat...very challenging

Yeah Doomkeeper, I second that for Game of the Year. Easily.

I haven't fought anything besides varns, skellies, groms and the rest of the african wildlife () yet, but it's really the other way around. At least from a ranger's point of view. The monsters will chase you down, but will route back to their original spot if you run too far, so it's easy to backtrack, shoot, backtrack - rinse and repeat. I do get steamrolled if they gang up on me. Totally squishy, totally awesome.

Atmosphere is amazing...just from a graphic and physics point of view - looks way better than Oblivion, Arcania etc. Music is excellent and adds to the atmosphere very nicely.
Haven`t been to any towns yet, so not sure about that.
Combat is damn good..actually makes you use various moves and a bit of strategy. fast moves for weak opponents and strong but slower moves for blocking opponents. Also looks pretty cool, all the leaping about and such
Voice acting is pretty decent, although the main character sounds like Clint Eastwood. very monotone but funny phrases.
Quests - haven`t done many yet, just "retrieve teleport stone" kind of basic ones, but i`m still on the starting island, so haven`t got far yet.
Tutorial was very well done and took a good half an hour to get past.

The voice acting is like I said, hit-and-miss. It holds its own in general. Not ground-breaking, but far from bad.

The atmosphere is great, I didn't like the Savannah region at first, but the further you progress in the story, the more it grows on you. You can tell they put a lot of effort into details, it shows. The larger towns feel like... well, large towns with bustling life and side-quests. I haven't spent too much time in cities so far, but inns, merchants and minstrels is a couple of things. If you approach a minstrel you can start jamming together and make mad cash in the process. It's hard and unforgiving though, the music system is not a joke. It's like Rock Band on expert level.

I didn't expect to like the combat, the videos put me off at first, but it's really not too bad. Solid is the word, I guess. Haven't got around to the magic system yet, but melee is pretty rewarding. You'll have a hard time mashing buttons, and that's a plus in my books. Archery is pretty standard. You lock on to a target and fire, but you can also enter something like Sniper Mode with lets you aim freely. I haven't unlocked all the goodies as far as archery skills goes yet, but it's alright so far.

Quests are pretty varied, I've smuggled a decapitated head, hunted ostriches, sneaked into warehouses and all that mumbojumbo. No "Kill 10 boars and bring me their lungs" quests. I'm really happy with the quests so far.

:p, that's the question. Ik ga zo even de MM site bekijken. Idd, 55 euro online prijs.

I must add that multiplayer in this game, is legen- wait for it... -dary. It's by far one of the most fun experiences I've had in an online game this year, on par with Mount & Blade Warband. It took me by shock, as I wasn't expecting much, but it blew my mind. The adventure missions are great, and it's a blast cleaving skellies with other people.

Although the SP has some issues, the game really surprised me. Definitely one of my top three personal favourite releases this year. Shame it's so poorly marketed.

    Nog meer impressies

    Wow..expectations greatly exceeded.
So I just finished playing about 2 hours worth of TW2 PC version I picked up from Gamersgate today and all I can say is ...WOW! This game has exceeded just about every expectation I had. Here's a few important points that stood out for me:

    1. Controls - I'm not much of a mouse and keyboard guy in my old age (pushing 40 lol) as being hunched over a keyboard for hours leaves me with an aching back, so I was blown away to discover you can use the Xbox 360 controller seamlessly with this game. In fact, when you plug it in the game immediately recognizes it and converts the entire interface over to console style to work with it! All on screen guides display Xbox button help and all tutorials switch to support game pad interface...freakin awesome! No more fumbling through menus to config the controller or using third party software with some bastardized keyboard hybrid config. This made my night!! Hats off to RP for this! The interface itself has a small learning curve, but after 30 minutes of game play it feels like second nature. Magic takes a little getting used to..not casting, but setting up your spells and combos..it's not hard..just pay attention to your guide books and on screen prompts and it becomes easy really quick. Combat feels fluid and natural, and it's easy to switch and hot key specials. 10/10 for controller ease here.

    2. Graphics - Simply beautiful. I'm running the game on an Alienware netbook mx11 gaming system, plugged into my Samsung 60 inch DLP HDTV and all I can say is WOW again. I'm running with max'd graphics options and I have no slowdown..no stutter...and very very little tearing and the game world is stunning in details, color, and vibrance. Little things catch your eyes here and there, like exotic birds hiding in foliage, to a sea teaming with fish as you swim. Textures are excellent; not overdone to the point of lagging out the system, and not to simple as to make an ugly game world (IE Risen..which I loved anyway). Combat and spell effects are awesome and eye-popping at times, and the bullet time cinematic kills are terrific when they fire. The world feels alive and draws you in to the point you feel like you are a part of it..immersion achieved. I have yet to experience any graphics glitches (although I am not shortsighted enough to assume they won't happen either) and have been fairly shocked to see that my Mx11 is playing this game with no slowdown at all so far. I'm far enough into the Savannah to really test it well too. Armor and weapons look like the devs put some real work into their skins and textures. This game was obviously a labor of love and it shows...and it also shows they learned from their first game and they listened to the community as well. Graphics 9/10.

    3. Story/Dialog(English Language version) - This game isn't going to win an academy award for voice acting BUT...my God they improved the voice acting compared to the first one. It's not only tolerable, it's actually not bad at all! The orcs are particularly well voiced, and the hero has a Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western quality to his dialect that works very well. The story can seem a little sparse at times, especially if you haven't played the first TW, which I'm sure would be very confusing to a newcomer. All I can say is stick with it, and read your quest log!! It's critical to completing some quests. The game strikes a fine balance between hand holding, and tossing you in the deep end to let you learn on your own. Once you exit the tutorial it opens up to a massive open world teeming with life and what appears to endless possibilities only hampered by the nagging feeling you should be working on those pesky quests piling up in your log. Some of the dialog options and arcs and nothing short of hilarious and had me laughing out loud when they occurred. Story/Dialog 8/10(probably higher than most would give it, but I'm a fan of soft spoken, smart ass protagonists)

    4. Sound/Music - I've got my system plugged into my home theater 7.1 so I'm taking full advantage of surround sound and its been quite adequate so far. Most sound effects come across as being neither overdone, nor underdone, leaving them just about right. The soundtrack is moody and inspiring at times, although their are occasional awkward moments when the music will simply stop and recycle at an inappropriate time, but it's certainly not an immersion killer unless you are looking for it to happen. All in all it contributes to the atmosphere an immersion quite well for the most part. 7/10 here just for the quirky music issues..which aren't really a huge issue.

Without droning on forever, I just want to say..RP nailed it on this one. I'm usually very skeptical of EU RPGs..as I've been burnt in the past by a few really bad titles (Gothic 3-4 anyone) but I have to say, RP just re-established EU devs as a force to be dealt with in the future of gaming. This title is simply fun, absorbing, beautiful, and packed with open game play...everything a RPG fanatic could want. They have erased the disaster of the previous title with this one...you can tell they worked hard on it, and nailed down just about every aspect of the game play with a top notch title that will catch the eye of more than just the hardcore fan. This was money well spent at any price and my only real complaint is there isn't enough time in the day, or enough energy left in my body for me to keep playing it right now. Overall I would give the game a solid 8/10. It delivers...period.

    ------------------

After 4 hours or so of playing this game, for me this is the best RPG in years!
The graphics, atmosphere, combat and many other things have completely
won me over. A lot of time and love has been put into this game

I only have a mid level PC and yet the game runs flawless on Highest setting. The graphics are really beautiful on this setting.

Walking around a town it reminded me a lot of Assassins Creed but with the knowledge that a whole lot more game was built around it. Also had some epic combat moments this morning! My Assassin does not use any ranged weapons and only uses dual swords in fights or a dagger for sneak executions.
I got caught sneaking around a Grom camp and was chased for a while but then I turned to fight a lone Grom in black armour with a flaming sword. Much leaping around and hacking at him with fast strokes to try and keep him off guard. He hit me once and I was on a sliver of health with the death knell bell sounding..luckily I backed him into the cliff face and let loose a flurry of lightning fast sword strokes and he fell...flaming sword was mine

This game feels truly epic and you know that you can develop your character the way you want. For me, it`s no magic and bows with only warrior/assassin skills which will be immensely challenging!

Another classic moment, was sending an Occulus into a Grom cave and floating right up to their faces only to see one of them pull out a sausage and cook it over a fire..classic! Then, i dropped a trap in the entrance with the Occulus and ran to the cave enticing the 2 Groms out. BOOM! Grom one steps on trap and flies to Grom heaven lol. The 2nd Grom runs out to be skewered on my swords

Definite RPG of the year from me..and who knows, maybe even the decade if it continues to improve more as I play, which I`m sure it will.

Just thought i`d share some of the goodness for the folks that are still waiting.

I`m finding the difficulty quite challenging but not impossible. Yeah if you are getting laid into, you will be dead pretty quick. Blocking and counter attack is your best friend. You can get away at times with launching an onslaught of fast blows on some enemies, but they will block pretty well and you really want to use a strong blow like the overhead to get through their defences. I was quite surprised how intense and enjoyable the combat tuned out to be.

Playing on medium and with a dual sword wielding lvl 6 melee/assassin clad only in leather armour, so far I really have to pick my fights 1 v1.
E.g - 5 minutes a go I came across a Varn Shaman and Varn Fighter- they slaughtered me. Reloaded and managed to get the Shaman solo and pretty much took him out fast with 2 swords. Then I healed up with mana regen (tabbed out of combat mode) and took out the Varn fighter with some strong overhead blows (he was blocking with a shield). got treated to a very nice cinematic overhead death blow btw

Don`t know what it`s like on Easy but medium so far is perfect i find for challenge. If i used a shield and heavier armour then no doubt it would be easier so far. Mobs at this stage are a definite no-no. I also don`t use bow which would be too easy imho.

Got killed by a Giant Ant a few mintues ago and was surprised how hard they hit. One minor annoyance is how anything nearby joins in to attack.
I was charged by a Varn in the savanah, then a Rhino and a Giant Ant joined him. It was like he gave some telepathic signal to them!

Overall, challenging but very rewarding combat. Strategy and cunning come in very handy .
