Pff, Dulle!

There hasn’t been information on Ninja Gaiden 3 at all, but in the latest PlayStation: The Official Magazine, project lead Yosuke Hayashi’s unleashed some rather juicy details.

    Get them below the break.

“We are focusing Ryu as a dark Japanese hero,” Hayashi told the mag. “There won’t be new playable characters, but we’ll focus more deeply on Ryu Hyabusa’s life and lifestyle and feelings and thoughts.”

Hayashi went on, explaining how they plan to explore what a lifetime of violence can do to a person.

“We are trying to take the violent concepts even deeper and make people realize how it feels to actually kill someone and what it is to actually gut someone,” he added.

“It’s very important to us that people realize that violence is not only about blood and gore.”

There’s also change in the game’s design, says Hayashi, making it more accessible to new players, but at the same time keeping the core audience intact.

“We know that many fans feel good about the difficulty level, but we are taking a slightly different approach. It’s not that the game’s going to be easier – nothing like that. It’s just that we are trying to make a whole game, a more exciting game that can be enjoyed by anyone.

But at the same time, hardcore gamers will be able to feel and appreciate what the series is about.”

Ninja Gaiden 3 will also feature a “complex multiplayer mode”, and both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be released simultaneously.

When pressed about Move support for the game, Hayashi remains, mute, saying it’s a closely guarded secret. No word on Kinect support, however.

Move support zou wel lauw zijn :)

Kon dat topic niet vinden

Ja met Kinect is lastig lijkt me. Ze moeten echt gewoon een lame controller uitbrengen, fuck you are the controller, maakt gewoon veel meer mogelijk. Ben wel benieuwd naar motion controlled hack & slash, hoop eigenlijk dat het in MGS Rising komt.

    Source: http://www.gamerbytes.com/2011/04/so...eal_burnou.php

It's been a while since we've had a new Burnout, what with Criterion busy with Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit since Paradise was released, but it looks like EA are ramping up for a new title in the series with Burnout Crash.

Burnout Crash has been rated by the Australian Classification Board, and doing some extra digging via Linkedin profile search, the game is a Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game.

While nothing currently states that the game is a downloadable title, it could very well be a new retail Burnout game, the lack of announcements prior to its rating has previously meant it was a downloadable game. Also, and this is purely a hypothesis, but being called Burnout Crash may mean this is a title entirely based around Burnout 3 and Revenge's Crash Mode, a sorely missing feature of Burnout Paradise.

    Laat maar komen!

WC 11: Spider-Man: Edge of Time Details
A Spidey panel sheds light on the new game.

Earlier this week, Spider-Man: Edge of Time was announced and the world found out Peter Parker was going to die. To save him, Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 would have to work together across time. And that was it. No explanation of what that meant. It sucked.

But now, after the WonderCon Spider-Man: Edge of Time panel, a few more story details are known. It seems an "evil scientist" in the 2099 world goes back in time to the Amazing Spider-Man time frame and kills Spidey. Spider-Man 2099 sees this, but it doesn't stop the world from going down a skewed path -- a trailer showed the Statue of Liberty in 2099 morphing into a sword-bearing woman as the timeline reacted to the death.

Knowing how things were supposed to be, Spider-Man 2099 reaches back to Amazing Spider-Man (pre-death), and the duo starts to work together -- although they don't get along at first. How do these heroes separated by time communicate? Picture-in-picture. When we're playing as one Spidey, we'll see the other in the bottom ring corner of the screen.

This partnership will have a bunch of time-bending effects. When we're playing as 2099 and Amazing knocks down a wall in his time, that wall's going to disappear in our time. One screenshot the panel showed was Amazing destroying a giant robot that was a prototype of the one 2099 was fighting in the future. When Amazing beats the prototype, the robot 2099 is fighting disappears.

Although the game will have you jumping between the two Spider-Mans, it's a single-player endeavor. Spider-Man: Edge of Time also isn't a sequel to last year's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. This is an original standalone story -- but it does borrow some of Shattered Dimensions' cast. Josh Keaton played Ultimate Spider-Man in Shattered Dimensions. Christopher Daniel Barnes was Noir Spider-Man in the last game and is 2099 in this one.

Oh, and if you're a super-Marvel fan and are pissed that this storyline mixes universes -- technically, Amazing and 2099 aren't in the same reality -- the creators say that they're on it and will explain it in the game.
