Horde 2.0 is the redesigned Horde mode for Gears of War 3. It now has more of a tower-defense style to it. Players can set up a base anywhere on the map, and they can set up barriers and turrets around them. Defenses and ammo are required to be bought by currency. Currency will be gained from killing enemies. The amount of currency will be based on how the player kills an enemy. Some maps will be more dynamic this time around, with enviormental hazards appearing at regular intervals, like for example, the sandstorm on Trenches.
Bosses (Brumaks, Gunkers, Savage Corpsers, Lambent Berserkers, Berserkers, or a Reaver Squad) will make an appearance every 10 rounds, but they always are picked at random, so you'll never know which boss to expect. Support troops (ordinary enemies) will appear in addition to the boss. It is important that the support troops be taken out first, otherwise the boss will reappear. Not only that, but its been said by Rod Fergusson that as you progress though the later waves, multiples of a boss might appear (although so far, he only confirmed that Berserkers fit this case). But every time you play (after every round), the enemies will alternate, for example if you fight regular Locust the first round, the next round you would either fight Savage Locust or the Lambent.
Players can also trade currency with each other, just like the weapon swap, except you press Y. Players can also get challange rewards for extra money and weapons by completing the challange they are given (exp. Chainsaw kills, grenade kills, ect). There will also be purchasable defensive and offensive items to use like barriers and turrets.
Dit zal natuurlijk ook weer ongelofelijk veel gespeeld worden. Hierbij dus een algemene topic voor Horde 2.0! Probeer het niveau wel een beetje aardig te houden en niet dat we straks alleen maar krijgen 'EH WIE KOMT HORDE NU SWA VOEG ME TOE' moeten lezen in dit topic.
