​ Release date: 30 september 2014 In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, you take on the role of Talion, a valiant ranger whose family is slain the night Sauron and his army return to Mordor, moments before his own life is taken. Resurrected by a spirit of vengeance and empowered with Wraith abilities, Talion ventures into Mordor and vows to destroy those who have wronged him. Through the course of Talion's personal vendetta, you will uncover the truth of the spirit that compels you, learn the origins of the Rings of Power and ultimately confront your true nemesis. Mordor is the region of Middle-earth in which Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor takes place. It is the home kingdom of Sauron, situated in southeastern Middle-earth and east of Gondor, Ithilien and the great river. Mordor was chosen to be Sauron's fortress because of the mountain ranges surrounding it on three sides, creating a natural fortress against his enemies. Much of the land was a volcanic waste due to the activity of Mount Doom, but some could be cultivated and the Dark Lord's slaves raised food for his armies here as well. Mordor is protected by three mountain ranges on all sides. The Ash Mountains lie in the north and the Mountains of Shadow in the west and south. The only viable large entryway into Mordor lies in the north-west corner of Mordor: the deep valley of Udûn protected by the Black Gate of Mordor. Sauron's Dark Tower, the fortress of Barad-dûr, was located at the foothill of the Ash Mountains. Unique Nemesis sytem. The Nemesis system for Shadow of Mordor allows every enemy that players face to be a unique individual with their own personality, as well as strengths and weaknesses. These enemies will continue to do their tasks when off-screen and can even grow in rank and esteem when players meet them again. Als RPG fan kijk ik hier wel naar uit. En natuurlijk is de LOTR lore fantastisch. Ook lijkt mij dat nemesis system wel verfrissend, ben benieuwd hoe dat uitpakt. Ik ga em in elk geval op de release halen!

 

Lijkt me een hele toffe game! ik denk dat deze ook wel een keer in mijn collectie komt als ik Destiny en Diablo3 beu ben.

 

Zolang ga ik niet wachten. Ga hem lekker tussen destiny en DA Inquisition spelen

de combat is het enige wat me tegen staat. Het lijkt meer op AC (saai) dan Batman (awesome)

 

Ik zit straks in september/oktober in mijn eentje Mordor en Lords te spelen Weinig animo voor die games zo lijkt het.

 

Game komt persoonlijk een beetje matig over. En dan komt die ook nog in de drukke maanden.
Had een perfecte zomer titel kunnen zijn.

 

Ik dacht dat de release opgeschoven was tot volgend jaar.. Hmm weet niet of ik hem direct koop. Zeker een toffe game, maar imo in het rijtje "leuk, maar niet voor meer dan 30 euro" gamen is al duur genoeg

 

Op welke vlakken dan? Tis ook geen genre brekende titel, maar heb wel de indruk dat het een echte solid RPG wordt met wat leuke snufjes ...

 

Stomme vraag mss maar wat betekent 'Lore'? Zie het vaak voorbij komen maar kan er niks van maken haha

Lore is het geheel van achtergrond bij een game, alle informatie die het tot een believable world maken. Dus in geval dit geval de lore van lord of rings van Tolkien. De wereld, hoe die er uit ziet, welke gebieden er zijn, welke volkeren en rassen er zijn, hoe die met elkaar omgaan, welke talen ze spreken, welek kalender ze gebruiken, etc, etc.

En die lore krijg je dan in games vaak voor je kiezen door conversations, boeken, audiologs, cut-scenes, etc ...

 

Een vriend van me die de game gespeeld heeft bij WB tijdens Gamescom zegt juis dat het heel veel op Batman lijkt qua combat en niet AC.

 

Ik zie tot nu toe nergens dat vloeiende en gevarieerde improviseren van Batman

Ik zie alleen veel 'press X to win' a la AC

Ik zie ook geen animatieonderbrekingen voor counters e.d. Het komt gewoon wat houterig en simpel op me over tot nu toe

 

Dit doet een beetje pijn als Lord of the Rings fan. Natuurlijk speel ik dit, maar je zult waarschijnlijk wel als enige XBWer op de PS4 spelen, daar waar ik de enige zal zijn op de One heb ik het vermoeden.

Zin aan de game, verhaal komt wel goed over en de acteur die Gollum inspreekt doet een hele goede imitatie. De hoofdpersoon komt mij over als een donkere variant van Aragorn, die geest dan als een soort van Isildur. Dus ja, meer Lord of the Rings dan dat kan je haast niet krijgen.

War in the North was ook prima te pruimen, alleen online totaal niet.

Game is inderdaad een beetje onder de radar.

Echter, ik volg hem al sinds de aankondiging en de developers zijn niet schroom om gameplay te laten zien (goede zaak in mijn mening).

Ik durf bijna te garanderen dat dit één van de sleeper hits gaat worden van dit jaar, is ook de reden dat ik veel eerder dan gepland een xbox one heb aangeschaft.

Houterige animaties trouwens? De kill animaties zijn echt van een ander niveau hoor, ik kom ook nog continu nieuwe tegen.

Ik ben in ieder geval hyped as fuck
