Dus als ik het zo lees dan heeft de S line alleen meerwaarde als je ook een nieuwe TV koopt.
Nah als Scorpio ook alleen meerwaarde heeft met nieuwe TV (heb net een nieuwe Samsung) dan hou ik lekker de X1 en misschien ga ik voor de Playstation VR

Scorpio gaat sowieso games beter afspelen.
Slim is gewoon de nieuwe Xbox One. De standaard na 3 jaar upgrade zeg maar. De oude versie gaat er langzaam uit zoals altijd. Heb je nu een Xbox One al. Tsja heeft het meerwaarde? Niet echt al is de prijs wel nice. Kleiner, geen powerbrick.

Xbox One S has 'additional raw GPU and CPU power' when compared to Xbox One

The Xbox One S is all set to bring 4K video streaming and HDR in a chassis that's 40% smaller than the Xbox One. While Microsoft didn't go into a lot of detail regarding the hardware powering the console, it looks like the Xbox One S will feature upgraded internals that will result in better framerates.

Misschien makkelijker meer constant, maar je krijgt niet opeens 35 fps ipv 30.

En het verschil gaat niks zijn zoals ik zei. Het is nog steeds dezelfde CPU en GPU.

Dat HDR ziet er nog best cool uit.
Alleen ik denk niet dat mijn tv dat aan kan.

Is het al bekend wanneer die controller van de one s versie te koop is?

 

Ik ben echt een super noob in die termen.. terraflops, 4k, hdr, upscalling. Het boeit me ook niks. Toch is dat scorpio iets wat me al blij maakt. In jip en janneke taal is hij veel sterker.
Moet ik het dan zo zien, dat de xbone games op minimale instellingen kan afspelen en de scorpio dezelfde games afspeelt, maar dan op maximale instellingen?
Of ligt dat niet zo? Want voor VR games enzo alleen is het voor mij anders niet interessant.

 

Ja wel een beetje zo. Vooral in het begin zal de focus van devs nog meer op de oude console liggen. Maar zullen games op Scorpio wel al gelijk beter zijn. Puur door de kracht alleen. Stap zal dan langzaam steeds meer worden als de devs meer gaan focussen op de nieuwe console als die meer en meer verkocht wordt etc.

Begin augustus ook.

Btw over de slim en zijn "extra power"

"Xbox One games will look "identical" on Xbox One S, Microsoft has said, despite the newer console's slight boost in processing power.

Speaking with Eurogamer today at E3, Xbox planning lead Albert Penello stated that the additional CPU and GPU access granted to developers for Xbox One S in order to enable HDR will have "literally no impact" on the performance of games.

"When we made changes to the box for 4K we unlocked a little bit more processing power to enable HDR. That's it. It's exactly the same architecture as the existing one," Penello told me during a presentation on the new console.

"To support HDR, we give people access to a little more CPU and GPU. That's it. It is so insignificant it is mind boggling it is being picked up."

Yesterday, a Polygon report claimed Gears of War 4 would perform better on Xbox One S, and that the newer console's raw processing power could be used to improve its frame-rate and resolution.

Some have speculated Xbox One would overclock its GPU and CPU, but Penello denied this.

When asked whether there would be any performance difference, Penello was clear:

"I promise, it won't even show up. It will have no impact on games at all. Literally no impact. They will be identical. It's nothing, it is literally nothing."

Eurogamer was told the same thing today by Xbox boss Phil Spencer, speaking with Wes.

"It was designed to play Xbox One games exactly the same way your existing Xbox One does," Spencer said. "The one definitive feature that's different is HDR. So, with the increased HDMI capability, it has the ability to support high dynamic range.

"I will say - and I've been asked about this - and I'm not trying to dodge the question, you should expect it to play your games the same way an Xbox One does. We did not design this to play Xbox One games better than the original Xbox One console."

Ok, dan wacht ik nog wel even. Ik ga toch echt niet al m'n niet-4K Bravia Android TV inruilen voor een Xbox!

De Scorpio maakt mij alleen happy wanneer het fatsoenlijk 1080P TVs gaat ondersteunen, inclusief performance gain. Serieus, van dit soort antwoorden word ik ongelukkig:

Alsof de halve wereld al een 4K TV heeft. En de plek daarvoor in huis. Over heel wat jaartjes misschien, maar 4K is nog lang geen standaard. En het is niet dat Microsoft een behoorlijk aandeel heeft in de verkoop van dit soort TVs, wat bij Sony potentieel wel de strategie zou kunnen zijn. Opvallend ook hoe gericht Microsoft is op PC gaming in het 2e artikel. Leuk om te horen wanneer je een console gamer bent.

 

Eind 2017 zijn er vast genoeg mensen met een 4K TV en zoniet dan is de Scorpio er al mooi voor als mensen in 2018 een 4K TV aanschaffen. Ik kan deze nieuwe modellen qua vooruitgang alleen maar toejuichen.
