If you listened to the recent Box Of Neutrals podcast with Olav Mol as a guest
LINK HERE TO GIVE CREDIT, he mentioned why Force India overlooked Pascal Wehrlein.
He spoke about how Pascal went into his test with Force India and basically told the team how to run things, what to do, etc. Just think about these following points:
- He's still extremely young and inexperienced to Formula 1, why tell a team how to do things?
- He was doing this to a team who have the best budget-to-points ratio in F1
- The reason I mentioned dot point 2, is that I read a nice piece in the F1 Racing magazine recently which described Force India's organisational culture, teamwork and how unselfish the overall team is.
Therefore I think Pascal failed to recognise the culture of Force India and if he was emotionally intelligent and aware of it (or somebody inducted him into the Force India culture), he wouldn't of approached his time with the team the way he did.
Now that he was overlooked for the Mercedes seat, I'm hoping the news of his attitude at the test isn't a road block for his career, he's a bright young man and I think will be very talented in the future.
