[Multi] Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Ubisoft has revealed that it will not launch a new Assassin’s Creed title in 2019, and instead will support this year’s entry, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, with additional content designed to keep players engaged in the game.

Speaking at GamesCom, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained that Assassin's Creed Odyssey's 2019 release was enabled because both 2017's Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey were being developed at the same time, and Odyssey will not be immediately followed by another game.

"On Assassin's, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin's next year," said Guillemot. "It's just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you're not going to have a full-fledged one."

When creative director Jonathan Dumont was asked if Odyssey will get a New Game Plus experience, he was quick to confirm that it was coming – although it won’t be ready when the game launches this October.

Before players can get to the end game content, Dumont is confident that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will take players quite some time go progress through, stating that that Odyssey has plenty of moving parts that will keep gamers hunting around the world as the end-game content arrives.


As you can see it is mostly water and mountainous islands. You do have a ship in the game with archers on it. You can shoot other ships with arrows or ram into them. The ship will be an integral part to navigate the game world and it can be upgraded throughout the game with better Javelins, Archers, Hull, Fire Braziers, Rowers and more.

The map will cover 130km² which is 62% bigger than AC Origin’s 80km². However, the land mass will be less than Origins as the majority of the map is sea.

The land mass is divided into many islands and some main land. On the map you can see the recommended level, although you will notice they all say “level 48”, which means the enemies either level with you or this was done specifically for the demo build and will change in the main game. The maximum level is Level 50!

Hoe moet ik dit nou weer interpreteren? Dat de game bij release eigenlijk niet echt een einde heeft?

 

Mooi moment om met Origins te gaan beginnen

 

Ja precies Moet ik ook nog steeds doen...

 

Het gaat in de eerste alinea over new game plus. De tweede alinea vervolgt dit met end game content, dus ik neem aan dat ze bedoelen dat er genoeg content in de game zit totdat de daadwerkelijke new game plus uitkomt. Beetje raar verwoord inderdaad.

Ik snap überhaupt niet wat mensen leuk vinden aan New Game Plus. Er komen zoveel games uit, waarom zou je nogmaals dezelfde game gaan spelen?

 

Onzichtbaar worden en naar enemy transporteren? Denk dat dit een black flag 2.0 wordt, waarbij het een goede game is maar geen assassins creed.

 

Uhhh, omdat als je een game heel tof vindt, je hem opnieuw wilt spelen? Maar dan met benefits.

 

Assassins Creed post launch met behoorlijk veel content. Nu extra blij dat ik de Gold Editie besteld heb.

 

En ze gaan AC III remasteren? Tering, de slechtste game na Unity. Een nee van mij. Echt ongelooflijk dat ik AC III ooit uitgespeeld heb met die hoeveelheid bugs en glitches. Kan me nog herinneren dat het oude XBW team destijds met een 2x een bericht kwam met 2x 100 fixes van bugs en glitches.

Hopelijk wordt dit niet zo'n Rogue verhaal, maar als ik de comments in het filmpje zo lees ben ik bang van wel.

En dan zijn er nog degene die het de beste game ever vonden... Patriottische Amerikanen misschien, maar de game had veel historische fouten en misvattingen. Ik laat het wel bij de standaard editie van Odyssey als ik hem haal en voor die meerprijs koop ik wel wat gear.
