Alle Breakpoint ontwikkelingen op een rijtje. Nieuw voor mij is het bericht dat ook The Division 2 het niet zo goed heeft gedaan, althans in de ogen van Ubisoft's CEOs. Ongetwijfeld gaat het om het financiële aspect. Division 2 was wel oké als game, toch?
Niet helemaal. Ik heb de game laatst nog een tijdje gespeeld en ik zie vooral best wat herhaling nog. Karakter modellen zijn wel beter geworden, controls soms wat haperend, maar wel beter. De wereld is ook prima, maar je kan in principe net zo goed deel 1 nog spelen. Wereld van deel 2 overtuigd wel meer, alleen het verhaal niet. Is nogal vlak soms, gaat niet echt diep. Maar goed, het is dan ook geen Witcher game uiteraard. Ubisoft begint eindelijk echt wakkerder te worden lijkt het, dat wel.
Je hebt het over Div2, toch? Mee eens. Het verhaal was praktisch afwezig en mij gaat het vooral om context. Moment tot moment gameplay was best oké. Ik zou liegen als ik zeg dat ik mij niet met Div2 vermaakt heb, maar na de wereld één keer te hebben doorgespeeld was ik er wel op uitgekeken. Steeds hetzelfde doen voor een paar punten hogere gear score, nee dat ik niet mijn ding. En al helemaal niet wanneer je niet echt het gevoel hebt veel sterker te worden (tegenstanders worden automatisch ook sterker). Ben blij dat Ubi met Breakpoint weer een stap weg zet van het looter shooter genre, al is het maar als optionele keuzemogelijkheid voor de speler (wat een goede zet is IMO). Het gaat mij daarbij niet echt om slechter of beter, maar The Division is al Ubi's looter shooter serie. Diversiteit is belangrijk en GR heeft sterkere roots liggen in het tactische shooter genre. Dat was het vroeger nog meer en ik zie daar graag meer focus op.
Weet je wat nog mooier is? Dat het team achter de Far Cry serie met New Dawn ook een aantal dingen heeft veranderd in positieve opzichten. Vooral de vuurgevechten doen soms denken aan de beste uit Halo, maar dan met iets minder glans nog. Ook de controls van die game zijn echt heerlijk, zelfs Mack van WAB zegt dat geloof ik ergens in zijn review van die game. Het is natuurlijk wel zo dat Ubisoft niet gelijk radicaal dingen anders kan doen in al hun games, dat is denk ik ook een te groot risico nog. Met ons aan de ene kant als consumenten en hun aandeelhouders en andere investeerders aan de andere kant moet je de balans zien te vinden. Ik denk dat ze wel iets hebben gevonden en dat zie ik vooral al terug in Breakpoint, voor de overhaul update en zelfs New Dawn dus. Dat is ook meteen de reden waarom ik uitkijk naar de nieuwe Assassins Creed. Origins heb ik nooit helemaal in kunnen komen, maar Odyssey wel uitgespeeld en die was op momenten echt geweldig. Ik denk dat we met de volgende console generatie wel eens hele mooie dingen kunnen gaan zien in meerdere series van o.a. Ubisoft en wellicht komt EA daar nog bij. Activision heb ik vooralsnog even geen vertrouwen in en Blizzard, weet niet of die los van geraakt van Acti, ook niet echt nog. Die nieuwe WoW uitbreiding gaat echt zo kut worden denk ik. Maar goed, even afwachten. Met Ubisoft heb ik wel weer hoop gekregen.
Deels ja, maar ik heb mijn twijfels nog redelijk sterk. Ubisoft heeft in elk geval al meer en betere stappen gemaakt.
Wildlands staat voor 9.9euro in de PS store, ben nog opzoek naar een nieuwe Coop game om samen te doen met een kameraad. Is dat spel nog de moeite? Overigens is met Breakpoint al het vervolg uit maar daar lees ik alleen maar slechte dingen over
Heb breakpoint nu in de sale gehaald,.. kun je al met ai teamates rondlopen?! of moet die update nog komen?! of komt dat met de update van de 24e deze maand?!
Kan je me vertellen of het nu wel een goed spel is na de patch? Wildlands en Breakpoint kosten allebij 19.9 euro in de PS store.. Wou Wildlands kopen omdat Breakpoint zo'n slechte reviews kreeg, maar mss is het nu in orde gemaakt?

Now players will not respawn to the closest point geographically, but to the latest location they went through before dying to avoid having players spawning in a place they have never visited before. For instance, it allows players in squad attacking a camp from different location points to respawn where they were, instead of respawning all at one location in case they get KIA. UI Fixed the unlock conditions for the Flat Cap item. Fixed several issues where descriptions were cut off in menus. Fixed an issue where weapons and gear would not be displayed in the player’s info page. (PS4/Xbox One) Improved Skill Tree videos latency. VEHICLES Improved and increased the helicopter’s speed perception: Added effects (both visual and audio) on helicopters when flying at high speed. Added a blur effect on a circular mesh that replaced the rotor blades to simulate the gyroscopic effect. Added an angle that suggests the air lift effect. Improved and debugged the main character animations while on bikes. Fixed an issue where reversing with bikes was inconsistent and could appear as non-functional at times. Improved the bikes’ feeling and removed unnatural movements. Reworked smoother animations for the physics forces applied to the character when encountering a bump on a bike. Fixed weird animations on the Firespin bike. Fixed an issue that randomly stopped bikes from reversing while on a rough inclined plane. Fixed an issue where movement would stop when applying the brakes while reversing on a bike. Fixed an issue where pneumatic boats exploded when spawned by players. Fixed an issue where helicopters randomly defied the laws of physics by jumping in the air at specify settlements. VISUAL Hill and Walker figures are back in Maria’s shop for free. Fixed an issue where the Brown Fury Knife would disappear during an execution. Fixed an issue where a weapon would turn invisible after exiting a bivouac in a co-op mode. Fixed clipping issues on the Ocelot Chest Rig and Self-Fastening Ankle Boots items. Fixed an issue where the belt’s color would change depending on the color of the shirt worn by character. Fixed an issue where binoculars would not appear while using Photo Mode. WORLD Fixed visual issues at Main Pumping Station. Fixed an issue where textures were missing near the Hidden Coomb.
