Vrijdagnacht heb ik op de website van pivotalgames.com hetvolgende gelezen over dit spel; ‘The Great Escape’ is based on the 1963 Oscar nominated film staring Steve McQueen and revolves around actual events during WW2. The game is set in a number of unique locations, from POW camps to a mountain-top castle. Game levels include a busy hospital, a chase through a moving train and escape from an active Luftwaffe airfield. The core of the game centres on the largest mass breakout ever, from the ‘escape proof’ Stalag Luft III prisoner of war camp. The game uses the powerful storyline and strong characters from the film to place the player in the heart of the action, as the POW’s resist the German war machine. It uses a combination of stealth, combat and frantic action involving multiple vehicles and an awesome motorbike based finale. Game features Stealth controls such as the ‘keyhole camera’ and ‘distractions’ to divert the guards’ attention. A unique combination of different gameplay that mirrors the dynamic changes in the film - slow stealthy sections, and fast-paced adrenalin filled combat and chase sequences. Multiple characters each with their own skill-set the player can apply; Hilts ‘the Cooler King’ (played by Steve McQueen) can pick locks, MacDonald ‘intelligence’ can speak German, Hendley ‘the scrounger’ can pick pockets, and so on. A unique mix of vehicles the player can control (motorbikes, trucks etc..) Specialist Enemy Units Types - ‘Ferrets’ are specialist anti-escape officers who search for suspicious behavior, ‘Goons’ are the guards charged with security in the camp… ‘Distraction’ game feature - other prisoners will help you carry out your objectives by creating a wide variety of visually impressive in-game distractions. Volgens mij wordt dit spel een topper. Ik ga dit spel ook zeker in de gaten houden. Mocht ik meer hierover vinden dan zal je dat in deze thread kunnen vinden. Overigens heb ik dit gisterennacht als nieuws gepost maar dat is niet doorgegaan, waarom weet ik niet.Misschien omdat het niet vertaald was. Daarom heb ik maar een thread geopend zodat dit toch bekend wordt. Ik heb een tijdje getwijfeld of ik dit wel zou doen want misschien zijn ze er nog mee bezig,alleen heb ik geen idee. Dus het zou misschien kunnen zijn dat dit straks ook bij de nieuwsberichten staat.In dat geval is dit natuurlijk overbodig en kan deze thread wel gesloten worden wat ook wel zal gebeuren. Pivotal is ook van CDS toch? Hmm, de screenshots waren volgens mij net ff teveel ala Prisoner of War..
Dat het niet echt een nieuw concept is, ik hoop alleen wel dat het PoW overtreft (PoW vind/vond ik een goed spel), als dat het niet doet is het het ook niet waard om te kopen..
maar The Great Escape is wel een klassieker qua film en daardoor kan het wel leuker worden, alleen nu hoop ik niet dat de game net zo eindigt als de film...
Ik heb dit weleens eerder gepost onder "nieuws" maar niet meer terug gezien .. ik zal straks even neusen of ik nog wat plaatjes heb ... Great Escape is eigenlijk POW maar met meer opties (je kan nu wel ehm .. hoe zeg ik het netjes zonder het word mof te gebruiken .. om onze slechte buren tot 1945 een klap geven of meer ... en je kan moter rijden .. ehm ... ik ga ff wat meer info zoeken... de Preview van kotor komt er echt aan ... maar ik heb het nu best druk ... puinruimen
