    Hi,

I've just purchased an xbox360 yesterday with gears of war. When i try to play the game it tells me that i have to switch to pal60. When i try this...my screen goes blurry and changes back after a while (not supported i guess). Its quite a new TV with 100 herz and pixel plus2. I saw some posts that other people had some problems with this but i didnt see a sollution. I looked for an option to turn the tv from 100 to 50 herz but its not there. Can anyone help me out?

Sorry about the english but i can only read some dutch but still very bad at writing it :)

    Hey,

How did you connect your xbox360? if you connected it with VGA you need to plug in the standard cables and change to PAL-60 and switch back to vga cable.

    Hi Dutchrunner,

I connected it using the scart supplied with the xbox. I set the switch on the connector to tv and inserted the red and white solid ones and the yellow one. Connected with vga? Im quite a newbie with these kind of things...can u be a bit more precise?

I fiddled around with some cables and when i set the switch to hdtv and plug in those 3 cables, i get black and white vision with no sound but then i can switch to pal60 and run the gears of war game...

You've got the xbox 360 HD cable. With 2 ends. 1 end has the yellow, white, red. You can leave them for what they are. You must look for the Green, blue and red one. You can insert that 3 cabels in the tv behind. Then you can connect the white and red cables from the other cabels in the tv. The yellow one not. If it's right, then the problems are solved. I had the same problem and also got a Philips.

Hopefully this is understandable, if you don't get it you can always pm me or ask it here on the forum again.

    Good luck!

My xbox360 is connected to an 17" CRT monitor and i've had the same problem with Pal-50 to Pal-60 and i needed to plug in my standard cables to my normal tv en set it to Pal-60 and switch back to VGA.

Did you try to change your display settings to 720P or something in the xbox dashboard>Console settings>Display? do you have an LCD TV?

Okay, make sure that the switch on that thing behind the xbox (that connect cable) is on TV. Then plug the red, white, yellow cables in the scart. Put the scart in the TV. Then start up your xbox, go to the settings for the resolution, can you set it on widescreen? 480p? 720p? What do you see.

I set the switch to tv and connect the yellow, red and white cables. When i try to set hdtv settings, i get a blue screen...which i can expect as its not an HD tv. Again i tried it to set it to pal 60, and now i got a good looking confirmation screen. Al seemed to work but when i try to run gears of war, the screen goed blurry again....When i turn it off and on again, the dashboard is also unreadable then...need to reset all to default settings to get it readable again.

Just juse the yellow white en red plugs. Next step to set the Cable switch to tv.. Then go to your xbox 360 settings en change it to 60 hertz en you are ready to play. Have fun m8

Perhaps you should search your tv menu/users manual for some settings that could affect the frequence or maybe just use a different scart port.
