Hello! I'm Paul Schrier, van Team Red Star, and I just wanted to drop a short note to you all @ xboxworld.nl to say Thanks for posting the news item about our upcoming game. I hope some of you will take the time to visit our site The Red Star . Com The Red Star is an incredible book, and we hope the game captures the epic feel that we've worked so hard to acheive on the book. So, why did I post here? Well, my heel familie is van Holland. Ik can ook hollandse praten, mar...schriven been ik neit so good in. (Don't laugh too hard at my Dutch). I'm an actor from Los Angeles, who was asked by a good old friend to help him with 3D in his comic book, TheRedStar. That's where it all started... I invite you to visit, and check out some of the great art we post every couple of days... Ik moet t'werk gaan...dankje well, xboxworld.nl!! Come to our site and look at the Team Red Star Link to see what I've acted in. mentioned in my bio. And don't make fun of me for that, either!! Doi! Paultje Schrier
Hi, Paultje Schrier Great to see you hear. What kind of game is red star? tell us ..... I we see alot of you on this forum that could be fun..
Hey Paul! Welcome to XBW! Your Dutch might not be everything, but it's cool you're here to thank us! Ofcourse we give every game a fair chance, but The Red Star seems to have a good prospect by itself! Maybe you could tell us something more about the game, and more importantly, about the progress of the project. It would obviously be great if you could give us the inside of The Red Star!
Red Star Game Well, As the announcement was just made...production has only just begun. Pre-production, really. So, it would not be smart to say too much about it, since things will likely change as we go along. And believe me, I wish I could tell you all everything I know! but, they would kill me if I did. So just let me say this...we LOVE HALO! And we dream that our game is as cool as that one. Best, Paultje (hehe, Omatje...)
It was our pleasure . We're just doing our job, just like you guys . Glad to see you appriciate it Keep up the good work!
Gerbo... Thanks! Sure, I love Nederlanders, I almost was one! I'm the first of my clan to be born here in the States...everyone is Dutch in my clan on both sides! mams is Indonesi, paps van Utrecht...Amsterdam...Omatje and Opa ook in Almere Stadt voor en postje... Heh, I better just not try and write Dutch badly...oops, too late! I promise I'll drop by and let your crew here know when we have new information to share... best, Paul
Welcome Paul, Pretty cool your on this forum, ofcourse, in return for our hospitality, you have to give us the latest news and stuff you know , nah, thats up to you to decide. anyway, good luck with the game! PS: harharhar
Red Star is a First Person Shooter i think Only For XboX?? or also for pc, ps2 and gc ??? can i be played on the internet?
Game Progress Well, Here's what i can carefuly tell you now: Team Red Star traveled to Acclaims Austin Texas Studios recently for a whole week of one on ones with the Game Team. Discussed were design and Gameplay issues, Asthetics, and Characters... I provided the design team with all the Red Star 3D models from my collection, and that's a really unusual step in Game Design! When does the property owner come in with 100s of completed 3D models? I think it puts us father ahead in terms of early design, since so much work has been done already on that material. As soon as I havce some real news for you, I'll pop back in... best, Paulus
Ahhhh, mojoo....I...can't say at this moment. Sorry! Killing me too, because I want to tell everything...but...soon™. Paul
Whoa! Developers aboard the Xboxworld train! Hi Paultje! You know, when I saw the concepts, the first thing I did think of was that it could be a perfect mix of Halo and medevial stuff, or well, the sorta 'madmax' kinda post apocalyptic/medevial feel with advanced technology. Tell me if I'm on the right track... I guess your models are pretty high poly right? You think they will use them right from your templates, or will they create custom models still? Anywaysh it is quite nice to start without having to go through the whole concept stuff again, since it's already established. Good to have you here!
Well, definately having the models done is a great thing. All the models in The Red Star, are really not high poly...low actually. That's a result of my experience modding games. I worked on Take 2 Entertainment's "Myth Worlds" release. Did over 150 models of castles and such...so, when I model, I really do low poly work....So, they very well may use some or many of them. Depends...you're right they may want to do new models as a matter of memory efficiency...but I can't say till we get a little later in the process. X-box-mas 04...ja. Well, to be really honest, platforms have not been released. So...I can;t say much there either! Well then, I better get to work. great chatting with you all! Paul
MoJoo, I'm not really a game creator. I'm a 3D artist, modeler, and actor guy. My good friend from college, Christian Gossett created The Red Star. I work on the comic, doing the 3D backgrounds and vehicles/weapons/etc. My game experience is purely fan-boy stuff, 3rd party mods, etc. I worked with a mod group called Creation while working on the Myth worlds release. The Red Star game, while I'm a part of it, and some of my work may appear in some form in the game, we'll leave game development to the guys who do it best, our friends at Acclaim. We make The Red Star, they make the game. but, it's all in the family now! Paul
