No scratched CD's in Europe
Everybody has heard about the scratching problem that some people complained about in America and Japan. Why hasn't anybody complained about scratched disks in Europe you might ask.
Well the answer is simple. Both the American and Japanes Xbox use a Thompson DVD player while the European Xbox uses a Philips DVD player. It seems that the Thompson DVD mechanism drops the CD in the tray before it comes to a full stop. That explains the scratches on the outer edge of the CD. Normally this isn't a problem because it rarely happens that there is data on the outer edge.
Well, to keep this story short and interresting, if you want to be sure you won't have any scratches on your CD's buy an European Xbox. But also newly produced American and Japanese Xbox systems shouldn't have this problem anymore. Happy scratchless gaming. ;-)
Pikachu, hoe kom jij aan dat 5 seconden verhaal? Ik zeg niet dat je geen gelijk hebt, maar met google kwam ik alleen bij bovenstaande uitleg.
