April Fools! Ya Fools!
Yes, we know it was cruel, but this was an April fools joke. Sorry if we got anyone excited or mad about this fake announcement.
While some of this information may actually be true, the purpose was for April Fools.
Bottom line: This isn’t real! A clever joke (it was clever right?) is all it was. The joke’s over!
Xbox Exclusive is now back to normal. Glad all of you got a kick out of our little joke, but continue checking back daily for all the latest REAL information and reviews.
Microsoft today announced the official name for their next Xbox system. Entitled “Xbox Streamline®,” which is the name given not only for it’s compact design, but also for what’s to come from it. Xbox Streamline® will launch Q3 2005, with many great titles, such as Project Gotham Racing® 3, Brute Force® 2, Eidos’ Hitman® 4, Sega’s ESPN Football® 2K6, EA Sports’ Madden® NFL 2006. The console will have a MSRP of $299. Following in 2005 will be the all new XSN Sports™ titles from Microsoft. NFL Fever, NBA Inside Drive, and NHL Rivals are among the many sports titles that are in the beginning stages of development. Many 3rd party developers and publishers are behind the Xbox Streamline®, and have kept all development in secret for more than a year. All launch titles will make full use of XNA technology.
Microsoft is giving gamers what they want, and what the market suggests. Since the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Microsoft’s forthcoming Xbox has been released to developers, the first screen shots will be released this May at E3. The prototype for the Xbox Streamline® screenshot has been released, but the gaming press can expect to see a working console with demos come this May.
Tentative Specifications of Xbox Streamline:
512 MB of RAM
5Ghz IBM 64-bit Power Processor
ATI Technologies-designed graphics chip
2GB of flash memory
Built-in Ethernet
Expect a much more detailed report this May.
