QUESTION
I am getting a "Your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access xbox live functionality" error when trying to play Battlefield 1943 on the Xbox 360?
ANSWER
Your account may need to be promoted in order to gain access to this and other games. Please review the steps in the following FAQ:
How do I 'Promote' a Child XBox Live account?
If this does not correct the issue, then the birthdate associated with the Xbox LIVE account that you are trying to use to connect to the EA servers indicates that you are younger than 13 years of age. To access certain games, EA requires than an account holder age 13 or older sign a "Terms of Use" agreement.
Things you can try:
Use a different account that has an age setting indicating the account holder is 13 or older.
If the age setting is incorrect on your account, and you have another account that shows that you are at least 13, use that account to connect to the EA servers and play online.
Create a new account.
If you are an adult using your child's account, simply create a new account with your birthdate and details for playing age restricted content.
If you originally created your account using an incorrect date of birth (for instance, if you attempted to save time by choosing the most recent year instead of scrolling down to your actual birthdate), a new account must be created with the correct birthdate in order to play on EA's servers.
Any questions relating directly to Xbox LIVE accounts should be directed to Microsoft
