July 12, 2007 - Codemasters has let slip that Colin McRae DiRT 2 is already well into production and that the game will offer a greatly improved online mode. Speaking to IGN at E3, Matthew Horsman, DiRT's chief game designer, said that the team has been listening to comments from gamers about what they did and didn't like about the original game. "All the stuff people didn't like about the first DiRT will be changed for DiRT 2," he explained, and then promised that "DiRT 2's online mode will offer a much more embellished experience so everyone will be happy."

Horsman also revealed that the team has been working with COG, the online arm of Codemasters, and that DiRT 2's multiplayer game will 'be a big surprise'. Our money is on a fully-fledged multiplayer experience with multi-car races rather than DiRT's online leaderboard system.

More hard DiRT 2 info is thin on the ground as yet but we'll be sure to bring you updates when we hear more. In the meantime, PlayStation 3 owners eager to get their hands on the first game will be pleased to know a PSN demo is in the pipeline and will be ready prior to the game's September release. The demo will likely contain three tracks and three cars different to those in the Xbox 360 demo, which racked up a total of a million downloads.

op ign staat dirt 2, en daar keek ik en heb k me info van, maar in amerika heet heet het oo gewoon dirt omdat colin mcrae niet zo populair is in amerika dan dat hij dat in europa is

Ach, nu weet ik in ieder geval dat ik DiRT oversla en wacht tot DiRT2 komt, met tenminste een fatsoenlijke online modus .

 

precies wat ik dacht, echte online MP en naar mijn smaak een iets "normaler" stuurgevoel en dan ben ik echt om... deeltje 1 pik ik ooit nog wel es een keer uit de budgetbak..

 

Dirt 1 is bagger en dirt 2 is bagger tot de macht 8.....vind het helemaal nix.

 

Hmmm, beetje kut, want dit resulteerd er ook meteen in dat er weinig updates zullen komen voor Dirt 1. Als ze veel dingen al willen verbeteren met deel 2, inplaats van updates voor deel 1. Maarja wel vetjes. Oh en de begin post is wel wat crap trouwens, enja dat dirt? Doe het dan in elk geval met hoofdletter. Maarja, tlijkt me wel een chille game, aangezien deel 1 al super vetjes is.
