Tecmo's Profits Soar 5:30pm 05/01/02 Tecmo upgraded their financial projections for the year today, with the company now expected to post a net profit of 1.2 billion yen (.3 million). The upgraded profit statement is 88 percent higher than initial projections of 969 million yen. According to company representatives, soaring profits are due largely to the success of their Xbox fighting game Dead or Alive 3, which was available at launch for the console in all geographical regions. More than 1 million copies of Dead or Alive 3 have already been sold worldwide, matching the success of Microsoft's blockbuster shooting game Halo.
