Aangezien ik al wat klachten heb zien staan over de brakke kwaliteit vd xbox360 headset: First I unscrewed the 2 screws on the backside of the module holding it together, Just so I could take a look at what went to what. The white wire is Mic+, copper wire is Mic-, the blue wire is Spkr+, and the brown one is Spkr- I had a 3/32" jack with 3 prongs. Ground, Mic+, and the other is Spkr+. To find out which went to what I used a volt meter. Plugged in the headset, turned it to test ohms, touching one end to the jacks ground (the part that touches the sleeve of the plug) and placing the other end on to one of the unknown prongs. With the headset on, you'd hear a small pop when you touched the spkr prong. I then cut the xbox 360 headset wire and stripped back the plastic. I soldered the Mic+ wire to the Mic+ prong on the jack, same with Spkr+. I then soldered both negatives to the ground prong. I've been using it for a couple days now and no problems yet. If any of you electricians think I may have messed up somewhere, don't hesitate to tell me. dry.gif But the volume and mute work fine. smile.gif I'll probably hide the plug at a later date on the backside of the module if I get around to it. dry.gif sleep.gif Using the Halo 2 plantronics is by far better than the crappy one that game with the unit. ----------------------------------------------------------------- En dan nog een manier om elke willekeurige headset aan te sluiting incl mute en volume settings: Many of you have been complaining that the headset that comes with the Xbox360 is inferior to all other headsets out there. You can plug any new headset into the Xbox360 jack, but you will loose mute and volume functionality. Well we are here to tell you how to fix that with a simple mod. All headsets have four wires, two for the mic and 2 for the speaker. The bare and the white wire are for the mic usually, and the blue and the red are for the speaker. Now, any headset you want to use should show these wires when you strip off the jack at the end. Once you figure out which is which, unscrew the Xbox360 Live headset adapter using the 2 screws on the back. You should see something similar to the diagram below. After this, it is simply a matter of un-soldering the wires from the original Xbox360 headset, threading the new headset wires through the plastic peice in the XBox360 headset adapter, and soldering them into place where the original wires you removed were. Pretty simple, and now you can use any headset at all with the XBox360. Check the images below for some more details, my soldering skills are pretty low that is why I drew you a diagram. If you really wanna get crazy, for my next step, im going to replace the headset I soldered on with a short headset extension cord that ends in a female adapter so you can plug in any headset at any time. Patent Pending!
