October Console Sales
The latest NPD console sales data has been released for the month of October in the United States of America. Here's how the consoles did:
1 Sony PlayStation 2 - 535,000
2 Microsoft Xbox - 239,000
3 Nintendo GameCube - 169,000
One interesting note in the report is that Sony's PlayStation One console continues to sell well, with over 1,450,000 sold. That puts it ahead of the GameCube's yearly estimate of 1,260,000. Sony continues to demonstrate its dominance in the console arena looking at the numbers. Nintendo's GameBoy Advance moved 315,000 units for those interested in the handheld scene.
The top 10 games for the month were also dominated by the PlayStation 2, which was the major mover of all multiplatform software. Here's the rundown:
