​ Wie, wat en waar ~Wie, wat~ The Spike Video Game Awards (VGA) is an award show hosted by Spike TV that recognizes the best computer and video games of the year. Beginning in 2003, the Spike TV Video Game Awards garnered much attention, since video game awards were not common prior to its introduction. The VGAs feature live music performances and appearances by popular performers in music, movies, and television. Additionally, preview trailers for upcoming games are highlighted. Frequently hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, the show is produced by Geoff Keighley. The event has been held at various locations in Los Angeles and Santa Monica, California as well as Las Vegas, Nevada. ~Waar~ The 2010 Awards will be held Saturday, December 11 in Los Angeles, CA at the L.A. Convention Center.​ ​

​ Aankondigingen​ ~10 VGA premieres promised by Keighley~ Geoff Keighley has confirmed there will be at least ten premieres at next month’s Video Game Awards. The event has already been confirmed to play host to premieres of Batman: Arkham City and a new BioWare project, which may be a Mass Effect-related game. Guilemero Del Toro’s project with THQ, thought to be a sci-fi based trilogy, is also set for a reveal, as is Saints Row 3, according to the publisher’s core boss, Danny Bilson. A zombie-based title and Uncharted 3 are rumoured for showings, with the latter possibly set to be the exclusive reveal from Sony at an event the day after the VGAs. Batman: Arkham City ~Batman: Arkham City is the upcoming sequel to action-adventure stealth video game Batman: Arkham Asylum, based on DC Comics' Batman for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. It is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics. The game was officially announced during the beginning of the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards.~ Bioware game ~Rumour has pointed to the title being some kind of multiplayer spin-off from the Mass Effect series, Mass Effect 3, Shattered Steel and a new game. So is it for Mass Effect? Shattered Steel? At this point only BioWare knows and they’re killing us a little.~ Saint's Row 3 ~Saints Row 3 is a third-person shooter video game developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ for the Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 systems.It is currently set to be released during Q3/Q4 2011.[1] The game was set to debut at E3 2010 but did not appear to allow developer Volition to rebuild parts of the game. Details are scarce at present, but Spike's Video Game Awards in December 2010 are set to include a first look at the game.~ Rumour: Uncharted 3 ~Uncharted 3 will finally get its much-antcipated debut at the Spike Video Game Awards on December 11. This may add more wood to the fire we’re going to see a full blow-out of the game at an event from Sony the day after the VGAs on December 12. The last Uncharted title, Among Thieves, was first shown at the 2008 VGAs. Nathan Drake voice actor Nolan North has already said it’d be “common sense” to assume there will be a U3.~ ~Voor meer moet je wachten tot 11 December!~ ​

Zag ook een gerucht (/hoop?) dat de nieuwe Bungie game een teaser zou krijgen. Lijkt mij wat vroeg, maar zou wel awesome zijn. Ben daar erg benieuwd naar.

MS komt ook met een game, hopelijk eindelijk weer eens een exclusive om naar uit te kijken.

 

Hopelijk wordt dat een non-Kinect exclusive. En ik ben benieuwd naar Saints Row 3! Het eerste deel vond ik echt vet, tweede deel niet gespeeld. Lijkt me niets.

 

Het zegt wel genoeg dat er bij Best 360 game alleen exclusives worden genoemd, maar bij de PS3 1 kutgame (Modnations) en 1 non-exclusive (RDR).

Jammer dat ze PES links laten liggen

 

Raar dat RDR wel op de PS3 genomineerd is en niet op de 360 terwijl de PS3 niet bepaald de beste versie was

 

Eigenlijk een behoorlijke weirde categorie...
Zeg dan Most anticipated, maar toch niet Best.

 

Jaja, dat moet Most zijn maar had ik niet gezien. Sorry hoor.

 

Oh, ik dacht dat de VGA mensen stom bezig waren. Daar staan ze immers bekend om.

​ New Spike teaser drops mega-hint: new Resident Evil incoming? Spike’s gone live with another trailer teasing the VGAs and there looks to be a great big Resident Evil hint in there. The latest trailer further teases the “Infected” reveal with another image containing the words, “Stay Alive, Stay Alert, Report Symptoms”, being visible for a split-second if you pause the trailer when it asks you to “looks closely” at seven seconds in. This image may crush earlier guesses that this might have to do with Valve or a new Left4Dead reveal. As you can see, the image clearly contains a BioHazard symbol. If that’s not enough, it asks you to report symptoms. “Infected”, a BioHazard symbol and reporting symptoms: let’s add three and make ten. Resident Evil: Raccoon City was rumoured to be in development at Slant Six – the studio behind SOCOM: Confrontation, as well as Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3 on PSP – earlier this month. Expect another one of these before the awards: this is image two of three, as it says in the corner of the image. ​ ​

Dat is nou een franchise die wel een reboot kan gebruiken (alweer)

 

Geen Super Mario Galaxy 2 tussen GOTY? Nu al faalawards.

 

Shaun White skateboarding heeft ook een nominatie... En Heavy Rain voor best graphics? wtf.. Wie sponsort deze awards?

Daar kunnen ze gezien de sales figures niet omheem maar het is eigenlijk wel raar om dat soort jaarlijkse updates te nomineren.

Eigenlijk spelen ik en alle andere COD fans al sinds 4 hetzelfde spel. Is een beetje of je WoW nu nog een GOTY geeft


Eigenlijk is het meer een lijstje van best verkopende spellen van 2010, het zijn vrijwel allemaal AAA releases die bij release enorm gehyped waren.

Waar zijn de lievelingen van de recensenten zoals Bayonetta? Die kwam hier ook in 2010 uit

 

Of, zoals ik zei: Super Mario Galaxy, een van de hoogst gerecenseerde games ooit...

 

Ook raar inderdaad dat die bij action adventure staat en niet bij GOTY
