What do I do with a Xbox 360 that had hardware failure?

    My 360 just had hardware failure (three red lights). Where do I take it. I have a 2 year extended warranty from Best Buy. What will they give me for it. Or do I send it to Microsoft. What will happen there. What's the best choice?[​IMG]

    Microsoft has a standard 3 year warranty period for the 3 lights defect so It'll be wise to request a repair at the Xbox 360 site.

    Even if you are already way past the warranty period you still might get a repair/new one.

    I got those three lights (Red Ring of Death) once, and the warranty expired for nearly a whole year already. But despite that I could still send my Xbox360 and still got a new one!

    So just call the support. And they'll make you print some sheet out, tape it on a carboard box with your xbox in it, and send it. Probably within 6 weeks you'll have a new one.

    First of all, where do you live?

    I'm curious, because you mentioned that you bought your xbox at Bestbuy. As far as i know, there are no BestBuy retail stores here in holland.

    So, the best thing you can do, is go to xbox.com, regarding which country you reside, and look there.

    If you purchased your xbox in germany, spain or the states, i don't know how xbox handles their warranty for consoles bought overseas, but as i mentioned before, go to xbox.com

    Most likely you'll find your answer there.....
