Xbox live on 360 account info

Hello ,

I was wondering.
I have an xbox live account at this moment, but it will expire in a couple of weeks. I want to keep this account with its stats. But i want to change the name when i buy a new xbox live gold card and activate it

Can i just change the gamertag while entering a new year subscription on my old account ?

You cann't change your gamertag (if you want to keep your achievements with a new subscription code). You can make a new account ... but will lose your achievements and friends list.

If you want to change your gametag then you'll need to pay 800 ms points
