00:07 - Halo 3-type Scorpion, with a second person operating the machine gun turret, confirmed.
00:08 - Direct melee combat? Otherwise, must be the finishing move on a special assassination.
00:10 - First actual observation of jetpacks, hard to notice in the action of the scene at first.
00:11 - Dive-rolling armor ability.
00:14 - Selectable loadouts for armor abilities confirmed. Have sprint, cloaking and jetpack abilities on display here. Also, looks like there's a night-time multiplayer map.
00:15 - Much more translucent Hill in King of the Hill, visibility out of the Hill looks vastly improved from Halo 3. Really cool new water effects on display here. Much greater detail on player's arm when throwing grenades. Match action info now says specifically how one player killed the other, in this case grenades. New multiplayer medal, "First Strike" for scoring the first kill of the match. Though shown in King of the Hill, it's likely a medal that applies to the other game modes as well. Finally, specific area designation beneath the motion tracker now. Should make for easier call-outs in team games for sure.
00:18 - Nice display of jetpack in action, icon noted on motion tracker. You get pretty good height off of it, looks like at least twice the distance of Halo 3's jump, although it isn't as fast as a regular jump. Seems to gain speed a bit at the end of its use. Based on the accurate shooting, doesn't look like you have to hold the ability button down, just tap it. Control your momentum with the movement stick from there. Guessing the tap-only functionality goes for the other armor abilities as well.
00:22 - Ghost confirmed, lol. First sighting of gameplay in the new Invasion mode, a bit before the trailer announces it. First sighting of the "Personal Bubble Shield" in action, for lack of an official name, icon noted on motion tracker. Whatever it's called seems to ward off all damage for a moment, evidenced by the Ghost's failed boosting attempt at the player, causing it to crash.
00:25 - Gravity Hammer confirmed. New multiplayer medal Pull!, seems to be earned by killing an airborne enemy with a headshot. Speaking of, looks like the medals for headshots from Halo 3 Campaign Scoring and ODST Firefight are in multiplayer finally.
00:27 - Looks like there's no fall damage...follow-up action shots seem to confirm this.
00:28 - Rocket Launcher confirmed, lol.
00:30 - Cool shot of cloaking in action being used to no-scope a guy with the Sniper Rifle. Icon shown on motion tracker. Interesting to note the readout on the scope after the shot is fired.
00:31 - Another new special assassination move.
00:32 - First view of playing as an Elite in multiplayer. Cool view of the armor abilities' recharge status displayed on teammates. Also notice the "Y127" and "Y173" callsigns, looks like Reach is going with ODST's more flexible approach to those. Icon above teammate ahead of the player is interesting...not clear whether this indicates his partner is being assassinated or is the icon for an as yet unseen armor ability. The player's own armor ability icon is interesting here, I believe it's the icon for the dive-roll ability seen earlier, given the two arrows shown in it pointing to the side. Finally, looks like the camera does pan out if you are special assassinated after all.
00:34 - CTF flag will be keeping its style from Halo 3.
00:40 - New game mode Invasion announced. Doesn't make clear exactly how the mode works, other than it seems to be a team of Spartans versus a team of Elites, though the Elites coming in decked out with Covenant vehicles seems suggestive, never mind the Phantom sighting. No surprise, but the Wraith is Halo 3 style, just like the Scorpion.
00:44 - Grenade Launcher in action, seems like it must be pretty fast to be able to take out a Banshee.
00:45 - Lol, great ragdoll action, that Spartan falls flat on his ass. Cool "rusted" sort of look to some multiplayer medals. Maybe all of them, but if so it hasn't been clear on the others shown up to this point. Yet another new icon like in 00:32. Dropped armor abilities possibly? Choose your loadout, but take new ones from fallen enemies? Seems to be the indication here.
00:46 - Finally a sighting of the heavy weapon from the mystery sound. Lock-on mechanism. Runs on a battery. Fires a barrage of three shots. Each shot uses about 6% of the battery, using about 20% of the battery a barrage. Looks like a total of five barrages based on that figure. For lack of an official name, does seem to be a "Plasma Grenade Launcher." Finally, worth noting the "Invasion Slayer" gametype, indication of multiple Invasion gametypes incorporating existing gametype rules. Sure to be objective-based Invasion gametypes.
00:52 - Headhunter gametype announced. Seems to be based on killing other players with headshots, making them drop a flaming skull for you to collect. Killing a player makes them drop all the skulls they have collected. Presumably the first person to collect the target number of skulls wins the game. Will have to wait for more details to confirm this.
00:57 - Active Roster announced. No clear indication of what it means, but the team-centric focus in the name and visuals suggest at some sort of clan functionality again. Can't be sure on this one.
1:04 - Special medal awarded. Considering the enemy killed was attempting to start swinging the Grav Hammer, I'm assuming this is the Bull-True equivalent for killing someone in the middle of a hammer swing.
1:07 - Spartans vs Elites announced. No particular indication as to what separates this from Invasion, but the two combined do seem to suggest at Elites now only being exclusively playable in these gametypes.
1:09 - Brand new, unnamed objective gametype revealed centered around players destroying generators. Thsi would make the first gametype that requires players to damage something besides other players to score points. Given the listings of Generators A and C we can assume there is a B as well, for a total of three generators. This is likely the default number for the gametype, although additional generators could be a customizable option for the gametype. Finally, worth noting the player as a Spartan here has what I believe is the dive-roll ability, meaning said ability isn't exclusive to Elites like the earlier footage in the trailer would seem to suggest. The icon from earlier in the trailer is here on the generator, so perhaps it's the marker for objectives? If so, not clear what objectives were being indicated in the earlier sightings.
1:15 - The Arena announced. As far as can be told, it's the name of the map players are shown fighting on.
1:16 -Wicked-looking new Covenant sustained beam weapon. Likely a replacement for the Sentinel Beam.
1:17 - New multiplayer medal, Revenge! shown. Indicated that it is awarded for having your first kill after respawning be on the player that had killed you.
1:19 - Another example of why it seems fall damage is out. The player is dropping quite a ways and only has the Sprint ability, so nothing to break the fall.
Overall, looks like four maps. The industrial site map (plenty of area tags like "smelter"), the night-time map, the spillway map and the high-tech The Arena map.
Armor ability count is up to five: sprinting, cloaking, jet pack, bubble shield and dive rolling.
And again, three new gametypes: Invasion, Spartans VS Elites and Headhunter
Took awhile to get through all of that, whew. Hope this helps guys!
