Nyko Zoom Kinect Gadget Price and Release Details
Back in early November, we highlighted the possibility that many gamers would need more than the recommended 6ft of open space to utilise Microsoft's motion-sensing Kinect peripheral, following independent tests on the device.
Gaming gadget-maker, Nyko Technologies, has come up with a novel solution for Kinect users who find their gaming space is a little lacking. The company's latest creation, Zoom, fits seamlessly over the Kinect device to widen the lens angle thus, "reducing the required play space by up to 40%".
Furthermore, the effect of the new gadget also means that two players can be tracked in an area previously only suitable for a single player, ideal for those of you who like to play your Kinect titles in local multiplayer modes.
Nyko Technologies has released a trailer to show what the gadget is capable of:

Zoom received several nominations for Best Hardware of Show at E3 last month and Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies, expressed his appreciation of the favourable reviews recently:
The success of the Zoom at E3 was outstanding and we are incredibly excited to help expand the already thriving fanbase of Kinect gamers, allowing even more people to enjoy the thrills of being the controller... We are also proud to be working with all of our retail partners on our first ever simultaneous national launch for an accessory
The "simultaneous national launch" will happen across North America on August 23rd and the gadget is set to retail for $29.99 at all major outlets. Unfortunately, there's no word yet on whether the space-saving invention will be available in other territories.
