Dit spel lijkt me echt zo focking vet he.

    We zullen zien

    Bionic Commando

    - Explain to me how doing two tracks for Bionic Commando worked exactly?

Well, I sat on my computer one eve just browsing through some old folders and found a copy of the original bionic soundtrack. 2 or 3 days later I heard a teaser of Simon Viklund's bionic theme for the Bionic Commando rearmed. I called Jonne and told him to get his ass on the guitar and try playing the tune... Love at first sight. =)
The Area 8 tune were made just because it's so goddamn fast and
sounded brutal as hell when Machinized.

    ( Check: www.myspace.com/machinaesupremacy )

    - How did the 'Bionic Commando Main Theme' cover got featured in a video released by Capcom?

The developers, Grin, asked us if they could use the song for something. They usually plays lots of MaSu music around the office and we usually play lots of Grin made games (and ofc Capcom games) so after some general praising of each other (Simon Viklunds Bionic Commando Rearmed theme rocks) a video was made and released.

    ( GRIN = ontwikkelaar, Capcom = uitgever )

    - Will any of the Bionic Commando tracks you have recorded be featured in the game when it is released?

I honestly don't know. Capcom likes the song but they haven't decided what to do yet.

    - Why don't you ask the guys and girls at GRIN if they'll feature your tracks in the game itself?

It's not up to Grin, if it was we would allready have a spot in the ending credits.

    Muziek in/en games

    - What is your opinion on the importance of music in games?

Aside from the obvious importance of music in games like Frets on Fire and Stepmania and such music in games nowdays are much like movie soundtracks. They aim to get a certain mood and are generally not so epic as the games of old.
Take for example my cell ringtone. It's the Victory fanfare from FFVII. It raises eyebrows in general crowds, and then you know what impact the game had on ppl and by their recognition of the music it. Also says quite a lot of the importance of the music. What would the battle with Sephiroth be without "One Winged Angel"?
I give you 2 more great examples, one as a mp3 attached and one as a search link to google here:
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=still alive&btnG=Search&meta=

21,300,000 hits on "still alive" and the top 2 is Portal - Still Alive
I really hope you'll recognise which game the mp3 comes from. If not, you have failed =P

    - There is quite a connection between your band Machinae Supremacy and gaming. Would you care to share any thoughts on how to improve the game-industry, talking about music and soundtracks?

Uh, I just feel like flaming a lot here, but let me ask you instead if you by any chance have played Fallout 3?
If you, as me, think it's a kickass game I ask you to try to remember just a fraction of one of the ingame songs. If you can't it's nothing wrong with you, it's Bethesda's fault for not linking epic game with epic music.
Easy to improve imo, just stop sucking and hire someone with a bit of music talent and some feel for the cineatic and you're home free. Maybe try to make actual songs with meaning instead of just random sounds.

    - I agree on Fallout 3. I missed an epic tune when escaping Raven Rock while opening fire on a dozen armored Encalve soldiers! I missed the great, dramatic score with vocals when dying or seeing something bad happening. On the contrary, I love the emptiness of some of the tunes you hear when wondering the Wasteland. It catches the nothing it is! I also love the different radio stations. For an example, Galaxy News Radio plays a lot of classic '40 songs and after helping an old woman called Agatha she would play the most lovely violin pieces I could listen on the radio!

Agathas violin plying is quite cool but it sorta feels off when you are blasting your way through piles of deathclaws.

    - Have you or the band members played any Xbox 360 games of which they think music contributed a lot to that game? In what games did they find it very, very important?

I haven't checked with the other guys but... Rockband? Pretty goddamn
important with music in that game imo. I hear that Bionic Commando
will have a nice soundtrack also. =)

    - Would you like recording a couple of tracks or doing an entire soundtrack for any future games, on any of the consoles or PC?

Making music for games is all good fun but it's also a lot of job involved so it we got some serious amount of funding, yes. Otherwise no, we prefer to work on a new MaSu album instead.

Capcom commits to a Bionic Commando May release

Put a fresh coat of polish on your mechanical claw, throw on a clean tank top and put a part in your hair, because Capcom just announced that Bionic Commando will be released to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, in all territories, sometime this May. To put the news another way, just look for this box on retail shelves during the month that follows April and precedes June.

Also, Nathan Spencer and his Bionic Arm will be released to the PC in the months following the console debut.

Bionic Commando (dread) locks on to May 19 release

Nathan Spencer is ready to finish off Capcom's gaming assault of Q1 & Q2. GRIN's long-awaited three-dimensional continuation of the classic NES series now has a date: May 19 on Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC version, also in the works, will be available "shortly after the console release."

Before the game comes out, make sure you check out all the various pre-order bonuses available -- you wouldn't want to miss out on a lunchbox, would you? And then, warm up with some Bionic Commando Rearmed (here's to hoping Bionic Commando will be at least half as good!).

Update: Europe will be receiving the game on May 22nd.
