According to Duke4net, there will be four different modes, with a maximum of eight players participating in 4 vs 4 with each “Duke” wearing either a red or blue shirt denoting the team they are on.
The modes are: Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe (Capture the Flag) and Hail to the King (King of the Hill). Dukes on other teams will have either red or blue shirts.
In Capture the Babe, the lady in question takes the place of the usual flag. Players must steal the other team’s babe, and if she starts to freak out a bit, you can pull a Sean Connery and give her a smack to calm her down.
There will be 10 maps at launch, one of which is the old west style-map of Morning Wood which we’ve seen in screens. There’s also a remake of the Dukeburger which has little miniature Dukes running around all over the place. When shrunk, the tiny Dukes can still use weapons, but damage is only 10 percent of what it normally is, and steroids will allow players to perform one-hit kill-punches and maintain faster running speeds. Players will not be able to use weapons while the steroid is in effect, and it’s unsure at this point if the steroid user is immune to Shrinker anymore.
A jetpack will show up on some maps, but only in multiplayer not single-player, and you can also plant bombs on enemies and other players. Other confirmed weapons include: a pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, rpg, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devestator, and trip-bomb. Players can only carry two primary weapons at a time, with bombs counting as a secondary weapon of course.
Holoduke is the same as in Duke 3D, but allows for the player to be cloaked, enabling stealthy melee attacks.
As players gain experience points by defeating other players, they can spend these points on customizing Duke: basic kills bet more basic points, while specialty “one time achievement kills,” like killing a player using the holoduke or killing yourself on accident with pipe bomb will give you a bonus.
