Hier wat informatie over een launch titel voor de ps3.
WARHAWK
Old-time fans of Sony's console endeavors should fondly remember Warhawk, a launch title for the original PlayStation console, appearing alongside games like Ridge Racer to help inaugurate Sony's entrance into the home entertainment market. Warhawk was a fantastic game, pitting a single super warplane into battle against dozens of enemy fighters and ships in a mission to save the world from the evil Kreel, who was attempting to capture a new form of energy and use it to fuel his world takeover.
With it's free-roaming style and some less-than-stellar FMV, the original Warhawk has created a legion of fans who were dying for a sequel. Well, it's better late than never because SCEA showed a short clip showing off a new version of Warhawk for the PS3. Sporting some insane graphics and massive amounts of planes on the screen at once, the decade-long wait will finally be paying off.
The clip started off with a squad of soldiers running around in a cave. With a style that looks like it was influenced both by modern warfare and weaponry as well as World War II-style trench warfare, the soldiers have a look that's both familiar and a little alien. We've seen some familiar ground being gone over with Killzone, but its the color palette for this part of the game that is much richer than Killzone's sepia tones.
But before we bagan to worry that the franchise had veered into shooter placed in grim caves, the clip cut to a shot of a few planes flying through the sky, followed by a vast armada. Looking like flying sci-fi versions of the carriers that our modern day Navy uses, air-borne fortresses were flying along with the armada.
These fortresses were slowly sailing through a mountainous valley that was covered with snow and trees. And even though we were dying to see some action the huge armada was just slowly sailing towards a far-off city for a possible invasion. If this was just a regular demo, we'd just be appreciating the hordes of planes, but since this is Incog Inc. is developing this one we're extremely hopeful that this one will be truly epic.
Incog Inc. has delivered both Twisted Metal: Black and War of the Monsters as well as some other quality titles and if they're throwing their effort into making a new Warhawk, then we're paying attention. Beyond some good graphics, these guys know how to make fun games.
