    Ik heb nu twee Ratchet & Clank games gespeeld op de PS3, vind het erg leuke platformers. Ik ben benieuwd hoe dit met 3D gaat uitpakken. Interessante titel om te volgen! :b:

    Ik vind de R&C games geweldig, maar... om de een of andere reden heb ik a Crack in Time niet weten uit te spelen. Wel spijt van dat ik em heb verkocht.

    Ben benieuwd hoe deze gaat uitpakken. Het co-op gedeelte lijkt me de opfrisser wat de serie kan gebruiken. :9

    Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
    isn't "casual" in the sense that makes gamers cringe. It's not a microtransaction-based minigame collection with friendly avatars. It's "casual" in the universally accepted way: It's fun for anyone who feels like dropping into it, with minimal startup time.

    All 4 One is also a competent action game, from what I saw, with a series of really exciting set pieces connected by interesting platforming. But it's all about experiencing these set pieces together. Players choose from four characters at the outset, though Ratchet and Clank seemed pretty much identical in abilities, as far as I could tell. Players have the ability to jump (obviously!), plus a melee wrench attack, multipurpose vacuum tool and a variety of Ratchet & Clank-style weapons. In the demo at South by Southwest, I had a machine-gun type item, a rocket launcher and the "Arc Lasher," an electrified whip. When two players are using the same weapon, shots fired at the same time are amplified.

    In addition, players are equipped with a kind of grappling gun that can be attached to various environmental objects to create a zip line, with the second (third, and fourth) character able to grapple onto the first to create a chain of lines allowing the bottommost player to swing to great distances. Once that player has reached the other side of, say, a chasm, that player can then pull the other characters across via a leash action.

    It's also possible to hold and fire another player across a chasm with the vacuum tool, and then catch up via this leash mechanic.

    With methods like these, you can cooperate to travel further than you could alone (though you'll always be accompanied by at least one AI-controlled partner). Sometimes, you'll even pick up co-op weapons, like a device that connects players via an electric line that's used to clothesline enemies. You can even revive downed players by getting close to them and tapping a button. And you'll want to, since the game ends when one character dies.

    But it's not all friendly. Even as you're encouraged (forced, actually) to cooperate to get through levels and strengthen player abilities, you're competing for item pickups and collectibles -- essentially, the high score. That means you work together, but you're also frantically competing to suck up as many items as possible with your vacuum. Should you feel like being a total jerk, you can pick up your partner and toss him or her out of the way.

    At the end of one winding level, Insomniac demonstrated a thrilling boss fight against a giant aquatic ... thing. Before the fight began, we had to water-ski away from the creature, jumping off ramps and avoiding obstacles. And then we walked straight up a tiled wall, using the vacuum to line up tiles across chasms and jumping out of the way when the boss destroyed the path. Finally, we reached the top and fought the boss. This was accomplished by pulling the boss's mouth open by yanking on an item box hooked to its mouth, and then shooting at electric monsters to knock them into a hole, overloading a generator and zapping the octo-critter in said maw.

    The heavy focus from the outset on co-op adds an appeal that the Ratchet series in general has lacked. In fact, it fits suspiciously well with the series. It kind of feels like the whole franchise was designed not just to have multiplayer, but to be a co-op game, and it just took this long to make the real game.

    Ik heb alle 3 (nouja, 3...meer 2.5) PS3 R&C games met echt heel veel lol (letterlijk; echt heerlijke humor in deze serie!) gespeelt, dus deze gaat er zeker komen!:)

    Ik ga deze ook zeker wel halen, maar ik moet eerst deel 1 uitspelen lol en deel 2. Heb ze allebei stil liggen hiero. En dat Quest for Booty, is dat nog een beetje de moeite? Denk dat ik die maar oversla.

    Ik heb hem toen gekocht nadat ik klaar wat met Tools of Destruction, wou meteen verder met het verhaal. Wel leuk voor die 15 euro. ;)

    Is het leuk? JA!!

    Focussed zich wat meer op de pirates, en die vind ik nou zo leuk gedaan in R&C.

    Tijdje geleden stiekum Crack in Time uitgespeeld (niet verteld aan jullie, dadelijk word ik nog uitgelachen :D ). Wat een leuke game en wat een nog leukere wapens. Mijn eerste ervaring met een R&C game though. :)

    'Gamers' die dit niet spelen puur omdat het er in hun ogen 'kiddy' uitziet zijn geen echte gamers.

    Zelf ook de R&C games gespeeld.
    En een aantal Lego games
    En Viva Piñata
    En...

    Vaak zijn dat nog de leukste games ook.

    Lego Star Wars Complete Saga is inderdaad een zeer leuke game!
    En dat zegt dus iemand die totaal niets met Star Wars heeft.

    Af en toe een 'verstand op nul' game is best leuk, en SWCS heeft ook nog eens leuke humor!

    Ziet er overigens weer leuk uit, de nieuwe R&C. Dacht eerlijk gezegd dat het laatste deel ook echt de laatste in de serie was ook qua verhaallijn?

    New Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Details Revealed
    Yesterday in Los Angeles, we presented a new demo of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One to an audience of US and European journalists. While we presented some new levels and weapons/gadgets, we also wanted to show once again that All 4 One is a sprawling new Ratchet & Clank adventure, with a full story, big arsenal, and tons of co-op mayhem. Further, in All 4 One, we like to say there’s an “I” in team: work together, but reward yourself. You all have to help each other out, but at the same time, the winner will earn the best rewards and get the first chance to buy the newest weapons in the game.

    We illustrated this in a new level of the game, set in the Terawatt Forest on Planet Magnus. It’s the home of a scientist named Dr. Croid — who holds the key to the mystery of the Creature Collector. The plants and animals here are mutated thanks to the presence of a strange meteor – and players will also have to look out for Dr. Croid’s giant Guardian robots that patrol the area (which you’ll see in the video above!).

    As we showed previously, all the weapons have a co-op function to them. For instance, if everyone uses the new Darkstar Fission Rifle at the same time, it amplifies the effect – and we give players a bolt multiplier for co-op kills. But we also reward players for specializing. For instance, Ratchet can use the Arc Lasher to stun enemies while Clank finishes them off with the War Monger rocket launcher.

    Many of you have asked if each of the characters will play differently in All 4 One. For the first time yesterday, we showed that each of our characters will have a special gadget that only they can use. These gadgets are special, powerful, and can turn the tide of a battle. For instance, Ratchet can use his Doppelbanger ability to create a decoy that draws enemy fire – but it’ll also upgrade over time into a powerful Turret. Clank, meanwhile, has a Time Bomb that highlights his Zoni heritage and also allows him to slow a fast enemy or extend the amount of time the team has to revive a fallen comrade.

    Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is on course for a 2011 release and can be played by one to four players, with drop-in, drop-out co-op that can be enjoyed same-screen or online (and in any combination of online/same-screen players as well!).
