If you feel there is any doubt in the harddrive... there is a command to reformat it:
go to Settings > System Info and press Y, Up (left stick), Down (left stick), X, A
Basically it reinstalls the operating partition from an image stored. Over writes averything. You'll have to reset date, time, etc and you'll lost all the save games
but it returns the XBox to Factory install condition.
