Xbox 360: Geruchten en Feiten [Deel 4]

zullen we met z,n alle wachten op 15 maarrt en kopen we hem dan met z,n alle de xbox 360 ( J.Allard huilt )

 

dat moeten we doen

 

koop s allemaal geen next gen console.. zullen ze helemaal blij mee zijn kijke wat ze gaan doen als er echt geen enkele next gen console verkocht wordt jaren van ontwikkeling..

 

HELP!!!

NEE... er komt voorlopig geen HD DVD in... stop aub nou eens met die onzin verkondigen...

En MS speelt een spelletje met Sony door de prijs te verlagen als de PS3 uitkomt? Wow... jij bent geniaal werkelijk waar... dat je dat zo maar kan bedenken... Want ja, die kans is idd wel heel érg groot (en ook al dus een keer of 100 vermeld hier)... zodra de PS3 uitkomt prijs íets verlagen (ik gok alvast: € 249 en € 349), Halo 3 op de markt zetten én natuurlijk een Xbox 360 - Halo 3 pack voor € 399 met een speciale front plate van Halo 3.
Is gewoon allemaal logisch en natuurlijk allemaal slim van MS...

en xboxbezitter, ja... dan heft MS zijn Xbox divisie op.... lachen...

(ja, ik klink miss chagerijnig maar ik ben het, voor de duidelijkheid, niet hoor )

 

De huidige DVD is groot genoeg voor spellen. Als er toch een HD DVD in nieuwe lading 360's komt, dan is dat alleen voor films op HD DVD formaat. Films zijn nog niet verkrijgbaar op HD DVD (en ook niet op Blue-ray). Dus dat duurt nog wel even.

 

Ik koop zo en zo pas een NEXT GEN console in 2006
Eerst even alles rustig observeren en dan laat ik me centjes
over de toonbank rollen!

 

Maar in de eertse laading 360's zitten geen HD DVD's. Maar als de volgende laading wel HD DVD heeft en de games ook op HD DVD's uit komen kunnen de 360's van de lanch niet meer die games afspelen, en dan heb je niks meer aan die xbox 360 van de lanch. En dan moet je een nieuwe kopen of heeft microsoft daar iets voor?

 

Nee, nee, en nog eens nee

De games zullen nooit op HD-DVD's uitkomen!
Als er een HD-DVD speler ooit in zal komen, zal het zijn voor films op HD-DVD's in HD kwaliteit, dus NIET voor de games dus je kan gewoon rustig een 360 kopen en rustig altijd allé games blijven spelen...

Waar haal jij de wijsheid vandaan, dat HD-dvd als opslag medium enkelt gebruikt zou gaan worden voor films. Lijkt mij nml. een logische en terechte vraag wat er met de 1ste generaties 360's gebeurt als er in de latere 360 versies wel een hd-dvd zit en wat de gevolgen daarvan zulllen zijn voor diegene die bij de launch zijn/haar machine aanschaft? Ook qua portomonee.

 

Er gebeurt niks met 1ste generaties 360's want de games komen uit op DVD formaat. Als de games op HD DVD zouden uitkomen, zou dat hogere productie kosten met zich meebrengen. Bovendien is zou Microsoft gewoon oliedom zijn als ze in de toekomst games op HD DVD uitbrengen terwijl de 1ste generaties 360's een DVD speler hebben. Als er dan 360's met een HD DVD speler op de markt komen, dan is dat alleen voor films. De Xbox 360 zal dan duurder zijn, aangezien een HD DVD speler in de beginfase peperduur zal zijn.

 

Ok maar dan blijft de vraag. Wat gebeurt er met de eerste 360's als er een nwe. versie met hd-dvd uitkomt? Is je multimedia-apparaat dan te upgraden?

Dit is trouwens al een oud stukje. Maar J Allard kan zeggen wat hij wil, maar ik vind nog steeds dat de Xbox ontworpen is voor de wat meer enthousiaste gamers (niet per sé hardcore, maar ook niet casual). Daarom blijf ik erbij dat een Xbox een harde schijf nodig hebt. Maar ach.. waar maakt men zich druk om? Iemand die er verstand van heeft koopt toch de premium versie. Ik denk ook dat de core versie geen succes zal zijn.

Als je de Backwords Compatible games gaat spelen op je 360, hoe gaat het dan met de save games?

 

Bedoel je de savegames die op je xbox staat?
Nee geen idee hoe je die op je xbox 360 krijg, maar ik zag laast bij dimplus een memory kaart voor de xbox op usb met nog iets so dat hij in je controller past.

 

Xbox 360: New Tech Specs Details Surface

Back in June, when we interviewed Todd Holmdahl, Corporate Vice President of the Xbox Product Group at Microsoft, and the man in charge of more than 1,000 engineers, we asked him if he could provide further details on the Xbox 360 CPU such as manufacturing process, the amount of transistors and other technical data that geeks like me find exciting. Unfortunately, Microsoft could not disclose such information at that time.

Today the desired photos showing the CPU and GPU die in complete nudity have made their way onto the Internet. We presume, due to some of the labels, that these pictures come from Asia.

The picture below is the first photograph of the Xbox 360 processor die, showing the physical design of the three-core CPU that powers the next-generation Xbox. In the picture you can see the three cores and the shared 1MB L2 cache among other sections:



A second set of pictures shows a system diagram for the Xbox 360 CPU that explains the different units that make each core as well as the entire processor and how these parts interacts with the other areas of the Xbox 360 architecture:



Last, but no least, also accompanying these new pictures comes a photo of a die, but this time showing the physical design of the Xenos GPU; the graphic chip designed by ATI for the Xbox 360. In the picture, you can see both the GPU parent die (photo provided by TSMC, the manufacturer of the chip) and the daughter die, the GPU embedded DRAM provided by NEC Electronics.



This new picture also reveals, for the first time, the transistor count for each part of the two-die design. The parent die has a total of 232 million transistors while the daughter die has 100 million, making the whole package a 330+ million transistor design. In comparison, an AMD Athlon 64 processor has approximately 205 M transistors while the PlayStation 3 Cell processor has ~234M and the RSX GPU designed by nVIDIA has some 300M.
By looking at the pictures and photos above, one realizes the tremendous complexity and state-of-the-art technology that Microsoft has packed into the Xbox 360; a console that for the first time will remain competitive against desktop PCs for more than a year after it launches.
